A washable fabric covered mattress pad involves the combination of a layer of resilient foam with a layer of fabric, both of which layers are machine washable and dryable. The fabric, either manmade or natural fiber material, is flame laminated to one side of the layer of foam. The non-covered side of the foam layer frictionally engages a mattress for non-slip self-positioning of the mattress pad without requiring straps or other specific holding mechanisms. A second or additional layers of foam of varying physical characteristics and/or thicknesses may be added through heat bonding thereof in a predetermined pattern to the non-covered side of the first layer of foam. Such arrangement results in a fabric covered, completely washable self-positioning mattress pad, such as having a preferred thickness generally in a range of from about one to about four inches.

A resilient panel comprising a first sheet having a plurality of pockets each having a resilient foam element located therein. Each of the foam elements is sized to substantially conform with the size of the pocket within which it is located. A second sheet is arranged over and attached to the first sheet so as to encapsulate the foam elements within the pockets in an uncompressed manner. This arrangement allows the panel to maintain a compression potential equal the entire compression range of the elastic elements. It also allows individual foam elements to be compressed without affecting adjacent foam elements.

An adjustable chair support supplement has a foam material main body which is surrounded with a fabric covering and provided with straps for selected securement to the back of a chaise lounge or similar support. A fabric support pocket may be added for supporting the covered foam body to the top of a chaise lounge. The covered foam member forms a padded layer which may be selectively secured with the strap to different parts of the chaise lounge back so as to adjust supplemental user support as desired.

Foam mattress pad

A multilayer supplemental support pad includes a generally planar layer of foam surrounded by fabric material. Lateral stitching forms channels in the pad to facilitate rolling up of the pad for storage and transportation. Elastic straps secure the rolled up pad. Other straps may be used when the pad is unrolled to secure the pad to a chaise lounge or other support surface. Different types of fabrics and pads of different dimensions may be used to provide pads for alternative purposes. When used as a chaise lounge pad, an approximately one-half inch thick layer of foam cut into a twenty inch by seventy inch rectangle is preferred, with cotton terry cloth fabric on at least one side of the pad. Fabric edging stitched to the periphery of the pad reinforces lateral edges of the main stitching.
