A system for using a pneumatic conveyor system to provide metered amounts of proppant to subterranean formation fracturing material blender in an offshore well environment. Plural pneumatic conveyor systems are provided which can be operated individually or in combination to provide the required amounts of proppant materials to blend with frac fluids.

In or near real-time monitoring of fluids can take place using an opticoanalytical device that is configured for monitoring the fluid. Fluids can be monitored prior to or during their introduction into a subterranean formation using the opticoanalytical devices. Produced fluids from a subterranean formation can be monitored in a like manner. The methods can comprise providing an acidizing fluid comprising a base fluid and at least one acid; introducing the acidizing fluid into a subterranean formation; allowing the acidizing fluid to perform an acidizing operation in the subterranean formation; and monitoring a characteristic of the acidizing fluid or a formation fluid using at least a first opticoanalytical device within the subterranean formation, during a flow back of the acidizing fluid produced from the subterranean formation, or both.

Methods for monitoring fluids within or produced from a subterranean formation during acidizing operations using opticoanalytical devices

A method for blending a well treatment fluid at a well site is disclosed. A first centrifugal pump for pumping a first component of the well treatment fluid into a pipe and a first valve for controlling the flow of the first component are provided. Similarly, a second centrifugal pump for pumping a second component of the well treatment fluid into the pipe and a second valve for controlling the flow of the second component are provided. The pumps and the valves are controlled so as to control the ratio of the first component to the second component. A sampling device is provided for analyzing a fluid flowing in the pipe. The sampling device includes a sampling container; a soft seal that opens and closes the sampling container; and a valve spindle. The valve spindle moves the soft seal between the first position and the second position.

The methods can comprise providing at least one acid; combining the at least one acid with a base fluid to form an acidizing fluid; and monitoring a characteristic of the acidizing fluid using a first opticoanalytical device that is in optical communication with a flow pathway for transporting the acidizing fluid.

Methods for monitoring the formation and transport of an acidizing fluid using opticoanalytical devices

A transfer system includes a conduit, a support, and a conveyor. The conduit has a first end and a second end and is configured to transfer dry material from the first end to the second end. The support is in contact with at least a portion of the conduit and is configured to maintain the second end of the conduit in a desired position relative to the first end of the conduit during transfer of the dry material from the first end to the second end. The conveyor is adjacent to the conduit and is configured to deliver the dry material to the first end of the conduit from a floating vessel configured to transport the dry material.
