An apparatus, system, and method to manage user interfaces within a network, such as a wireless network at least partially included within a hazardous area. The method includes creating an application user interface based upon data content included within a single application binary file, serving the application user interface, creating a device user interface based upon data content included within a single device binary file, and serving the device user interface, in which the data content of the single application binary file and the data content of the single device binary file are identical. Additionally or alternatively, the method includes sending the single device binary file to an application computer through a serial connection to create an application user interface, in which the device user interface and the application user interface are configured to be identical.

Token-based data management system and method for a network

The invention is a networked system of devices positioned in a hazardous environment to monitor/control process conditions. The devices include sensors and controls such as valves. The sensors detect process conditions/control device settings and are monitored by a slave devices having, generally microprocessor controlled and having associated memory to receive and record the sensor/control device data. The network includes master devices, each master device may be associated with one or more slaved devices and associated sensors, where the master device communicates to is associated slave devices through a digital communication bus. The master device can automatically detect its associated slave devices and detect the communication and data characteristics of the slave devices. The master may also set parameters for detected slave devices, such as needed for computations performed by the master (using its own microprocessor) using data received form the slave device(s). The master device receives slave device data by requesting or polling the data from the slave device over a digital communication bus.

Networked series of sensors having distributed measurement and control for use in a hazardous environment

A mud pulser creates pressure pulses in a stream of drilling fluid circulating through a drill string. The pulser has a body connected into the drill string, and defines a flow passage for drilling fluid. A signal poppet having a piston is reciprocally carried within the body. A lower end of the poppet selectively restricts flow of drilling fluid through an orifice and to thereby increase pressure and creates a pulse while in an extended position. An inner passage with an upward facing servo seat formed therein is located in the body and extends through the signal poppet for the passage of drilling fluid. A motor-driven servo valve selectively engages the servo seat to control flow of drilling fluid through the inner passage. A limit switch responds to axial movement of the servo valve cause the motor to turn off when the servo valve reaches predetermined axial positions.
