Apparatus for training horses includes a housing including a lower section under an upper section, the lower section configured with a stall for confining a horse and having opposed sides, and the upper section including a tank for loose granular material and configured with a hopper proximate to each of the sides, the hoppers concurrently openable for releasing the loose granular material into the lower section from above the stall along the respective sides for sufficiently filling the stall with the loose granular material for covering at least a portion of the horse.

A container transfer system is disclosed. The container transfer system can be installed on a vehicle or a rack. The container transfer system includes a conveyance assembly configured to move a container in a substantially horizontal direction along a longitudinal direction of the conveyance assembly. The conveyance assembly can include a frame comprising longitudinal members and transverse members and a plurality of rollers coupled to the frame. The plurality of rollers can include a first set of drivable rollers configured to be actively driven by a motor and a second set of passive rollers. The container transfer system also comprises a plurality of lift assemblies coupled between chassis rails of the vehicle and the frame of the conveyance assembly configured to raise and lower the conveyance assembly in a substantially vertical direction.

An apparatus for aligning and shimming plates being anchored to a substratum having a plurality of threaded anchor holes coaxially aligned with corresponding apertures and coaxial threaded bores through each plate. The apparatus includes an external threaded cylindrical shim having a shimming surface and a second (outer) surface adapted to accept rotary force for rotational movement and adjustment of the separation produced by the shim between the substratum and the anchored plate. For anchoring, the 2surface of the shim further includes a counterbored or countersunk hole having a shoulder including a narrower passthrough aperture aligned with the threaded anchor hole, through which an anchor screw extends for rotational mating with the threaded anchor hole. The anchor screw also has a head wider than the passthrough aperture, and adapted to accept rotary force for rotational movement and fixing the shim in place. The apparatus may also include a cap covering the anchor screw head within the counterbored or countersunk hole, to provide a more continuous planar surface and to prevent grit or other unwanted material from collecting in the hole. The apparatus may also include an adjustment tool interfacing with the shim 2surface and/or the cap outer surface, for applying the desired amount of rotational force.

The first side can include a rigid frame and a spanning material. The cargo bin can include a second side pivotally attached to a second edge of the base. The second side can include a rigid frame and a spanning material. The cargo bin can include a front side. The front side can include a spanning material attached on a first end to the rigid framing of the first side. The front side can also include a support attached to a second end of the spanning material, the second end opposite the first end, a first tip of the support configured to be insertable into a first hole in the base to close the front side. The cargo bin can include a back side.

A container transfer system is disclosed. The container transfer system includes a conveyance mechanism configured to support a container and move the container along a first axis, and a lift mechanism configured to raise and lower the conveyance mechanism.

A motor control apparatus and method is disclosed for controlling a multiphase AC motor by controlling electrical quantities such as voltage or current applied to the stator of the motor. The apparatus includes a motor command unit for defining a reference signal indicative of a desired motor parameter such as torque, speed, or position, a DC voltage link, a controller, a line-side converter including active switches in a bridge configuration for controlling the bidirectional flow of electrical power between the DC voltage link and a source of AC power, and a motor-side converter including active switches in a bridge configuration for controlling stator electrical quantities by controlling the bidirectional flow of electrical power between the DC voltage link and the motor, where the motor-side converter includes control means responsive to the reference signal for controlling the active switches to produce stator electrical quantities that correspond to the reference signal.

A variable speed wind turbine is disclosed comprising a turbine rotor that drives an AC induction generator, a power converter that converts the generator output to fixed-frequency AC power, a generator controller, and an inverter controller. The generator controller uses field orientation to regulate either stator currents or voltages to control the torque reacted by the generator. The inverter controller regulates the output currents to supply multi-phase AC power having leading or lagging currents at an angle specified by a power factor control signal.

Variable speed wind turbine

A shield device particularly useful in conjunction with a medicine containing vial or ampule to prevent medicine from spraying out of the vial as a hypodermic needle is extracted from the vial seal. The shield device includes a enclosure having a collapsable wall structure. One end of the shield device is formed with an opening for receiving the neck of the vial and sealing around the vial neck. The other end of the shield device from the vial neck receiving opening is formed with an aperture which is covered by a puncturable seal similar to the seal covering the opening into the vial neck. In use, the vial neck is inserted through the opening into the shield. Maintaining the shield device in the collapsed position with the shield seal in overlaying alignment with the vial seal, the needle of a hypodermic syringe is inserted through the shield seal and the vial seal, and into the vial for filling the vial with medicament or extracting medicament from the vial. The collapsed shield device is then manually extended to define a chamber. As the hypodermic needle is extracted, any medicine which may spray out of the vial through the puncture hole made in the vial seal by the hypodermic needle is captured in the shield chamber.
