A composition and method are used to treat articles suspected of contamination with bacterial spores. The composition and method are effective against bacterial spores selected fromandThe article can be a textile or a hard surface. The method includes preparing a first use solution by mixing ether amine in water and a second use solution by mixing percarboxylic acid in water; applying the first use solution to the article; and applying the second use solution to the article. An alternative method includes preparing a mixture of ether amine, percarboxylic acid, and water, and applying the mixture to the article.

Ether amines for enhanced sporicidal performance

Applicants have developed a physically and chemically stable solid composition containing a soil release polymer and an acidulant. The sour step thus accomplishes both stain removal and residual alkalinity removal. A novel method of using a soil release polymer and an acidulant together in the same post wash step of a laundry wash process is also disclosed. The solid composition is physically stable, even during aqueous dispensing, i.e. non-slumping and non-weeping. The solid could be formed through a melt, cast, or pressed process.

The present invention is directed to low solid surface coating compositions and methods of using the same. The low solid surface coating compositions comprise a self-crosslinking polymer, a solvent, a surfactant, and water. The present invention relates to novel combined laundry detergent, bleach, and antimicrobial composition incorporating novel sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compounds, and methods for making and using them. The sulfoperoxycarboxylic compounds used in compositions of the invention are storage stable, water soluble and have low to no odor. Compositions of the invention may be in the form of a liquid, a solid, or a gel. The sulfoperoxycarboxylic compounds useful in preparing compositions of the present invention can be formed from non-petroleum based renewable materials.

Detergents capable of cleaning, bleaching, sanitizing and/or disinfecting textiles including sulfoperoxycarboxylic acids

The present disclosure provides methods for generating percarboxylic acid compositions and/or peroxycarboxylic acid compositions formed external to a point of use in non-equilibrium reactions for use in certain bleaching and antimicrobial applications, in particular laundry applications. The compositions are generated external to a point of use, at alkaline pH levels, viz. greater than about pH 12, and optionally suitable for use with detergents and/or surfactants for synergistic bleaching efficacy. Methods of bleaching and/or disinfecting are further provided.

Generation of peroxycarboxylic acids at alkaline pH, and their use as textile bleaching and antimicrobial agents

The invention provides an aqueous floor coating composition, comprising water, at least one polymer film forming agent, and a plasticizing agent, wherein at least a portion of the plasticizing agent is a synergistic combination of tributoxyethyl phosphate and a benzoate ester blend. Such compositions have reduced phosphorus content, yet retain the leveling and gloss of tributoxyethyl phosphate plasticizers and also exhibit improved soil resistance.

Disclosed are concentrated liquid rinse cycle fabric softener compositions comprising a quaternary ammonium cation and benzylated alcohol solvent having between 50% to 90% weight active ingredients. Benzyl alcohol is disclosed as a preferred solvent to produce a clear liquid solution formulation rather than emulsion. The concentrated liquid rinse cycle fabric softener compositions of the present invention possess desirable stability, sustainability and fabric-softening properties. A method for antimicrobial treatment (e.g. antimicrobial treatment of food packaging and equipment) comprising applying to microbes a composition containing a diluting solvent (e.g., water), an antimicrobially-active solvent having a density different from the density of the diluting solvent, and an optional cosolvent, surfactant, or additional antimicrobial agent, wherein the amount of antimicrobially-active solvent or additional antimicrobial agent is sufficiently high and the amount of cosolvent or surfactant is sufficiently low so that the composition will provide greater than a 1-log order reduction in the population of bacteria or spores ofwithin 10 seconds at 60&#xb0; C. Preferred methods of the invention employ compositions containing an additional antimicrobial agent such as peroxyacetic acid. Compositions for use in the method can be prepared as concentrates, and used full strength or in diluted form.

Ultrafine zinc oxide can initiate hardening of polyurethane coatings and decrease the coating tack-free time. The decreased tack-free times facilitate earlier application of additional polyurethane layers and earlier return of a coated article to service, and can provide improved floor finishes.

Floor finishes are stripped or deep scrubbed using a floor stripper/cleaner composition containing sparingly water-soluble floor finish solvent; water; sulfonic acid, sulfate acid, phosphonic acid, phosphate acid or aromatic acid coupler in an amount sufficient to provide a homogenous aqueous liquid phase and no or low foaming during shaking; and sufficient organic amine so that the composition pH is about 2 to about 11.
