An audio bed board having an inertial type acoustics transducer is disclosed. The novel bed board structure is capable of emitting sound without any exposed audio speakers or speaker openings allowing sound to escape. The bed board typically acts as an audio emitter. In a preferred embodiment, the bed board is generally hollow thereby allowing the installation of the acoustic elements within the bed board. Additionally, an audio amplifier contained therein may be coupled to the headboard, other bed structures or surrounding structures. The bed board generally has a surface adjacent one of head end and foot end having no normally apparent openings so as to facilitate cleaning of the bed board. Furthermore, the emitted sound signal may utilize multiple audio sources for reproduction by the bed board sound system including but not limited to digital, analog, optical and emergency signals.

A nose bridge of a primary frame which retains a pair of primary lenses includes a first magnet and the base of the connector includes a second magnet such that the flip-up lens assembly can be removably attached to the primary frame when the base of the connector is secured to the nose bridge of the primary frame by magnetic forces between the two magnets.

Eyewear according to one embodiment includes a primary frame retainer, at least one primary lens and a clip-on lens assembly removably attachable to the front of the primary frame by magnetic forces interacting between two magnets affixed to the primary frame and the clip-on lens assembly, respectively. The clip-on lens assembly includes a connector affixed to a secondary frame of the clip-on lens assembly. The connector has a hook removably engagable with a recess defined in the primary frame for positioning the clip-on lens assembly with respect to the primary frame.

The inertial transducer comprises a foot, a modular key, at least one suspension means having at least three contact points, and heat dissipation means comprising multiple heat transfer points. The foot alternatively includes an opening or a cap. The cap may be frangible. Preferably, the foot includes a cylindrical wall that extends within the inertial transducer and the foot's lower surface is coplaner with the lower surface of a housing of the transducer, thereby reducing stack height. The cylindrical wall may or may not be threaded and may accept a shaft from a receiving apparatus used to associate the transducer with a substrate.

Heat dissipating acoustic transducer with mounting means

The invention converts non audio systems into distributed audio sources for active noise control solutions. The system transforms non acoustic structures into soundboards using inertial type acoustic transducers. Acoustic parameters unique for each application due to the variation in properties of the sound board are compensated by equalizers. The invention also uses damping means to limit the reflection of bending waves from the edges. The inertial type acoustic transducer is driven by an amplifier. The acoustic signal to the amplifier is modified by a signal conditioner to compensate for the non optimal response of the acoustic system. An external controller communicates with the amplifier to control its operating parameters. A series of distributed audio sources in a variety of positions may each be addressable as a node on a network wherein noise detected at that source is analyzed and the system generates sound at that source to mask the noise.

Embedded audio system in distributed acoustic sources

The invention is a novel circuit wherein maximum shove is achieved yet the transducer's height profile is minimized. The profile is minimized by using mated beveled surfaces on an annular magnet and the top plate which prevents the top plate from reaching saturation and reduces the reluctance f the magnetic flux path. A novel anti-fringe geometry to reduce flux leakage and net saturation in the center post improves the magnetic reluctance of the circuit. An external housing assembly is provided with integral suspension elements for radial stiffness and axial compliance and for aligning the circuit within the housing to prevent cocking and resulting distortion.

Magnetic circuit for electrodynamic moving voice coil actuators

A linear fixture for suspension from an overhead structure has a light weight and has electrical connectors capable of making easy plug electrical connections for power and network connection communications. The linear fixture is an elongated housing having a bottom wall, an elongated housing top wall and an elongated slot extending longitudinally along the elongated housing top wall. The housing is manufactured from an extrusion of aluminum thereby reducing the weight of the housing. The housing includes two or more housing supports having bottom and top surface portions respectively, conforming in shape to the housing bottom top walls. The bottom of top portions of the supports are adapted to engage or slide fit into the bottom and top walls so as to mate with the walls and provide support to the elongated housing bottom and top walls. The housing supports act to provide additional structural support for the top and bottom walls of the linear housing. The housing supports maintain the housing bottom and top walls in fixed relationship from each other. The housing supports are further adapted to be suspended from the overhead structure so as to support through the housing supports the elongated linear housing from the overhead structure. Preferably, the housing support comprises a one-piece plastic material, which reduces the weight of the fixture. The housing supports are adapted to receiving in mating relation an electrical plug whose terminals face outwardly for quick electrical connection with adjoining fixtures or a power source.
