A gym is provided having multiple, private booths for members to perform exercises. The member typically moves from booth to booth to perform different exercises. Preferably, an automatically generated workout program, based upon member input and fitness and test results, guides the member from booth to booth and provides a workout regimen that can be automatically changed from day to day, based on feedback, to accommodate the member's changing abilities.

Exercise facility and related computer-generated personal training system and method

A personal training system and method includes generating a personalized exercise regimen for a user, based on user-related data entered into a computerized system. The user moves from booth to booth within an exercise facility to perform different exercises corresponding to the computer-generated exercise regimen for that user. The personalized exercise regimen for the user may be automatically adjusted according to the user's performance results input into the computerized system.

Personal training system and method

A surface working apparatus or cleaning implement that is useful in removing soils and other undesirable items from carpeting, hard flooring or any surface. More particularly, the present invention relates to a floor cleaning apparatus having a handle and an absorbent cleaning pad which is removably attached to a cleaning head and disposable after use. An aerosol canister is connected to the apparatus and a trigger is used to selectively dispense the contents of the canister in front of the cleaning head for cleaning the flooring. Various locking means are added to the floor cleaning tool to ensure proper floor chemical application.

Surface working apparatus

A spinal therapy machine having an inflatable bladder. A rigid restraint running around the bladder causes the inflation to rise rather than to expand outward. Rings connected to the ends of the bladder are slidably attached to one or more posts that extend generally perpendicular to whatever structure upon which the bladder is placed. Either a control unit operated directly by the user or a computer direct the inflation of the bladder and, consequently, the elevation of a pad removably attached to the top of the bladder. Inflation is provided by a vacuum motor preferably connect to the bladder with a large tube in order to enable rapid changes in the degree of inflation.

Spinal therapy machine

An apparatus for performing spinal therapy is disclosed and includes a base assembly having a pair of spaced-apart, vertically extending guide posts and at least one stabilizing foot associated with each guide post and capable of pivoting from a folded to an expanded position to stabilize the apparatus during use. A lift bar assembly is disposed between the guide posts. The lift bar assembly includes a horizontal cross bar interconnected between two lift bars which are slidably attached to the guide posts. An elongated fluid filled pad is disposed between the guide posts and over at least a portion of the horizontal cross bar. An actuator, including a motor operably connected to the lift assembly, is used to selectively raise and lower the lift bar assembly. A cable and pulley system is incorporated into the apparatus for raising and lowering the lift bar assembly in a uniform manner.

Apparatus for performing spinal therapy

A cleaning machine includes a body, a head attached to the body and movable relative thereto in a reciprocating manner, and a motor mechanism for reciprocally moving the head. The cleaning machine also includes one or more spray nozzles for applying one or more solutions to the textile, and a suction head for reciprocating movement over the textile to agitate the textile and to remove the solution(s) and soil from the textile. Preferably, the cleaning machine includes two reciprocating heads which move in opposing directions so that each head offsets the vibrations produced by the other. In such a manner, a cleaning machine provides reduced fatigue for the operator while achieving improved cleaning.

Reciprocating head for cleaning textiles and method of use

An aerial toy is disclosed that is adapted to be launched into the air using an elastomeric band. The toy includes a nose portion that is generally in the shape of an elongate ellipsoid that has a front end and a rear end. An elongate rib depends from the rear end of the nose portion in a direction generally along the long axis of the nose portion. This rib has a first end adjacent to the nose portion and a second end. The aerial toy also includes a pair of generally planar wing portions which are arranged so that the plane of the first wing portion is generally parallel to and spaced apart from the plane of the second wing portion. The first wing portion depends from the rear end of the nose portion and from the rib, and has a tapered outer edge. The second wing portion depends from the rib and has a surface area approximately 20-80% as large as the surface area of the first wing portion.

Aerial toy

Carpeting, upholstery, drapery and other textile fibers are cleaned by applying to the fibers, at ambient pressures, an aqueous, chemically carbonated cleaning composition prepared by admixing a carbonate salt solution, and an acid solution, such that the acid reacts with the carbonate salt to produce carbon dioxide coincident with application to a textile to be cleaned. Citric acid and sodium carbonate are the preferred acid and carbonate salt. In a preferred embodiment, urea is added to the acid solution to prevent yellowing and to improve cleaning ability. The compositions are preferably prepared and applied at an elevated temperature in the range of between about 140.degree. and 200.degree. F.

Composition and method of use for an internally-carbonating

An airfoil is disclosed that is adapted to be launched into the air using an elastomeric band. The device includes a nose portion that is generally in the shape of an elongate ellipsoid that has a front end and a rear end. An elongate rib depends from the rear end of the nose portion in a dkection generally along the long axis of the nose portion, and a pair of generally planar wings depend from the rib and from the rear of the nose portion. The plane of the first wing portion is generally parallel to and spaced apart from the plane of the second wing portion, and both wing portions have a tapered outer edge. The taper of the outer edge of the first wing portion is oppositely disposed to that of the second wing portion.

Internally-carbonating cleaning composition and method of use

A system for the mixing of two or more interacting heated solutions and the simultaneous application of the mixed interacting solutions to a fabric surface. The system is made up of a mobile supply base and an elongate applicator having a valved mixing chamber at the proximal end and a fluid distributing manifold at the distal end. The mobile supply base houses multiple containers, each adapted for holding and heating solutions to a desired temperature. The supply base also contains one or more pumps for the delivery of solutions from each container through interconnecting lines to the valved mixing chamber at the proximal end of the applicator. The applicator is an elongated support structure such as a wand. At the proximal end of the applicator, the valved mixing chamber is configured to receive and meter solutions from the supply base through the interconnecting lines into a mixing chamber maintained at substantially ambient pressure. An outflow line connects the mixing chamber with the distribution manifold. The solutions mix and interact in the mixing chamber and the mixed solutions pass through the outflow line to the distribution manifold at the distal end of the applicator. The system is preferably adapted for the mixing of hot carbonate salt and organic acid solutions resulting in the production of a hot carbonating solution in the mixing chamber and the delivery of the carbonating solution through the distribution manifold onto a fabric surface.

Dual solution application system

Carpeting, upholstery, drapery and other textile fibers are cleaned by applying to the fibers, from a pressurized container, an aqueous effervescing internally carbonated non-detergent cleaning composition prepared by admixing, in percent by weight, about 20 to 60% of a carbonate salt, about 20 to 60% of a natural solid acid, and 5 to 40% urea in an aqueous medium such that the natural solid acid reacts with the carbonate salt to produce carbon dioxide and the solids concentration in the solution resulting from the carbonate salt, natural solid acid and urea is between about 0.5 and 10% by weight. Citric acid and sodium carbonate are the preferred solid acid and carbonate salt. The composition is prepared from naturally occurring ingredients and the container is pressurized by air or other environmentally safe gaseous materials.

Urea containing internally-carbonated non-detergent cleaning composition

Self neutralizing compositions and methods for their use are disclosed for treating polyamide fibers, such as nylon or wool carpeting, to render them stain resistant. The compositions are aqueous solutions carbonated to an appropriate acid pH containing one or more dye-resist agents which are condensation products of formaldehyde and a sulfonated naphthol or phenol. When the carbon dioxide escapes or evaporates subsequent to application, the pH rises to about neutral leaving the dye-resist agent ionically bonded to the polyamide fibers. An appropriate amount of a fluorochemical may also be contained in the solution which also physically interacts with the fibers and deters yellowing caused by the presence of the dye-resist agents. The process can be carried out during one or more cleaning, rinsing or subsequent finishing or protectant steps. In each step, the carbonated solution is applied under pressure at a pH of between about 2.5 and 7.0 and preferably between 3.5 and 6.5.

Composition and method for providing stain resistance to polyamide

Solutions and method for the solubilizing and removal of dyes, synthetic red dyes in particular, are disclosed. The solutions consist of an aqueous mixture containing as essential ingredients (1) a detergent, preferably anionic, (2) a sulfite or bisulfite, (3) a lower alcohol and (4) ammonia or an amine. The combined ingredients cooperate to chemically alter the dye chromophore causing it to become soluble. The dye is removed by placing the solution on fibers stained with the dye for a time sufficient to allow the dye to be made soluble and the solution is then removed by either suction or absorption. Some dyes require treatment of the fiber with a solution followed by the application of moist heat through an absorbent material to assist in solubilizing and transferring the dye to the absorbent material. Particularly preferred are solutions consisting of 0.1-6% w. of a lauryl sulfate detergent salt, 5-15% w. of a sulfite or bisulfite, 20-40% w. of ethanol or methanol or a mixture thereof, and 2-10% w. of ammonia or a low alkyl or alkanol amine.

Composition and method for removal of stains from fibers

An aqueous cleaning composition containing 0.1-5 percent of a detergent which may be nonionic or anionic, 0-1 percent of one or more alkaline builder salts and 0-5 percent of a volatile organic solvent wherein the cleaning solution is carbonated with carbon dioxide and maintained at a pressure of from about 1 to 10 atmospheres.
