A sender device may receive timing information corresponding to a two-way active measurement protocol (TWAMP) exchange associated with a virtual clock and a reflector clock. The virtual clock may be maintained by the sender device and corresponding to the reflector clock. The reflector clock may be maintained by a reflector device. The sender device may determine, based on the timing information, an offset between the virtual clock and the reflector clock. The sender device may synchronize, based on the offset, the virtual clock with the reflector clock. The sender device may determine a one-way delay, associated with the sender device and the reflector device, using the virtual clock.

Using a two-way active measurement protocol to calculate one-way delay

A method of monitoring a network with a test device connected to the network includes monitoring a plurality of packets which pass through the test device, comparing a predefined field of each of the plurality of packets to a predefined pattern so as to identify signature packets, evaluating whether the signature packets satisfy a predefined condition, and, if the predefined condition is satisfied, sending a notification to a user. A system implementing the method is provided.

Method and system for network monitoring using signature packets

A system for identifying calls traversing a packet network. The system includes an analysis device that receives first signaling information from a packet network and second signaling information from a circuit network. The analysis device correlates the first signaling information with the second signaling information to generate correlated records about calls that traverse both the packet switched network and the circuit network. A database system receives the correlated records and calculates statistics describing traffic that traversed both the packet network and the circuit network.
