A photosensitive element is disclosed, and a process of forming an image with it, comprising, in order, a support with an optional subbing layer (1), a metal image forming layer, a photosensitive layer, and a transparent cover sheet with an optional subbing layer (2). After exposure a delamination step is performed thereby giving rise to a positive and a negative metal image. In a most preferred embodiment the metal layer is a bismuth layer.

A recording material comprising at least one thermosensitive element, comprising a substantially light-insensitive organic silver salt and an organic reducing agent therefor in thermal working relationship therewith, on a support, characterized in that an outermost layer of said recording material comprises at least one solid lubricant having a melting point below 150.degree. C. and at least one liquid lubricant in a binder, wherein at least one of said lubricants is a phosphoric acid derivative. The outermost layer of the recording material in contact with the heat source during the thermal image forming process may be the outermost layer of the thermosensitive element, a protective layer applied to the thermosensitive element or a layer on the opposite side of the support to the thermosensitive element.

A thermal imaging process comprising the step of imagewise heating a donor element so as to transfer therefrom colored matter onto a contacting receptor element, characterized in that before said imagewise heating said receptor element contains in a layer at least one substance that by heat applied in the transfer of said colored matter undergoes a change giving rise to an increase in optical density.
