A commercial process with a dependent variable can be associated with a set of independent variables. The commercial process can continuously provide data collection opportunities. An intervention is designed using a model to predict the dependent outcome. The actual outcome of the intervention can be determined within the window of utility for these data. One objective is to improve intervention outcomes with prediction. Purely random outcomes (no model prediction) and outcomes resulting from the intervention (model operations) are aggregated into separate files&#x2014;a sequence of control model data files and a sequence of model data files of operational data. These model data files and control model data files are used to analyze model performance and to react automatically when identified conditions warrant.

Dynamic model data facility and automated operational model building and usage

The present invention provides methods of attenuating or preventing brain injury mediated damage in the central nervous system by attenuating or preventing leukotriene-mediated events following a brain injury or long-term neuroinflammation after brain injury, in Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The methods comprise administering at least one 5-lipoxygenase activating protein (FLAP) inhibitor either before or after the brain injury. The method finds use in the treatment of traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, post-traumatic stress disorder and other brain injuries associated with production of leukotrienes in the central nervous system. Preferably the FLAP inhibitor is administered intranasally and preferably for certain high risk individuals prophylactically prior to any potential brain injury event.

Use of flap inhibitors to reduce neuroinflammation mediated injury in the central nervous system

Disclosed are apparatus and methods for depositing solvent-free molecules on surfaces of samples, with particular application to imaging mass spectrometry. A vacuum chamber is configured to have controllable matrix translation apparatus for controlling the position of one or more solvent-free matrices within the chamber. Sublimation apparatus is used to sublimate molecules from the solid phase matrices. One or more samples are placed separately from the solvent-free matrices within the chamber. Condensation apparatus individually cools the samples to deposit sublimated molecules on the samples. Controllable sample translation apparatus is used to control the position of the samples within the chamber. Rotatable sample holding apparatus may be used to hold and move the samples to allow deposition of molecules on multiple samples at substantially the same time. Rotatable matrix holding apparatus may also be used to hold and move a plurality of matrices to create a homogenous mixture of molecules that are deposited onto one or more samples. As surface characterization system may be used to monitor deposition of the molecules to determine their thickness and roughness. A computer may be configured to control the matrix translation apparatus, the sublimation apparatus, the condensation apparatus, and the sample translation apparatus to provide for automated deposition of solvent-free molecules on the samples.
