Aspects of the invention include receiving requests to be executed by a processing system, and receiving first stakeholder token from first monitoring agent and second stakeholder token from second monitoring agent, first and second stakeholder tokens being indicators to track at least one of the requests through the processing system. A tracking token is built for tracking at least one of the requests through the processing system, tracking token having a format acceptable by protocols of the processing system, tracking token including first and second stakeholder tokens and a unique correlator. Requests are transmitted to the processing system, where the tracking token is associated with at least one of requests in the processing system. Access is enabled to tracking information generated by the processing system associated with requests for the first monitoring agent based on first stakeholder token and for the second monitoring agent based on second stakeholder token.

Selective tracking of requests through enterprise systems by multiple vendors with a single tracking token scheme

Generating a performance policy for a server. A plurality of system metrics of a first server is monitored, and a benchmark for the plurality of system metrics based on the monitored plurality of system metrics is stored. The benchmark indicates desirable system metrics of the first server. An operating policy for a second server is generated from the stored benchmark. The operating policy includes desirable system metrics of the second server based on the desirable system metrics of the first server.

Server health checking

Disclosed is a computer-implemented method of rebalancing persistent client connections to a cluster of servers. The method comprises identifying an increase in a total client connection capacity of the cluster of servers with a network connection balancing component; and for each server in a selection of servers in the cluster of servers calculating a current client connection capacity utilization of the server from the number of persistent connections to the server and the current capacity of the server; comparing the current client connection capacity utilization with the target client connection capacity utilization; and terminating a selection of its persistent client connections by a server based on its current client connection capacity utilization exceeding the target client connection capacity utilization. Also disclosed are a computer program product and a computer system for utilizing the computer-implemented method.

Persistent connection rebalancing

Method and system are provided for automatic failover between multiple nodes in a middle-tier layer between client applications and a back-end service. The method at a first node includes: receiving a request from a client application; determining that the first node cannot service the request successfully; forwarding the request from the first node to a second peer node; receiving a response at the first node on completion of the request by the second peer node; and forwarding the response from the first node to the client application. An original path of communication between the client application and the first node is maintained. The failover of the request from the first node to the second peer node is transparent to the client application. Nodes may be registered in a group, wherein a node in a group has awareness of other nodes in the group.

Automatic failover of nodes of a middle-tier layer

A method, system, and computer programming product for returning a response directly to a transaction request originator in a customer information control system (CICS) is provided. The method can include receiving a transaction request in a CICS and allocating resources in the CICS in response to receiving the transaction request. The method additionally can include determining whether the CICS is an intended endpoint of the transaction request. Finally, the method can include extracting an address of an originator of the transaction request from the transaction request and sending a response to the originator at the extracted address upon determining that the CICS is the intended endpoint of the transaction request, but otherwise routing the transaction request to a different CICS along with the address within the transaction request.

A system and computer program product for assigning runtime artifacts to software components. Source code and metadata are extracted from a library, where the metadata includes a component membership for the source code. A compile unit is formed from the extracted source code and metadata. Runtime artifacts are produced from the compile unit or an element derived from the compile unit. Each runtime artifact is interrogated to determine the defined component for each runtime artifact. The determined component is recorded.
