A towing dolly has a pair of supports between which a pair of wheels of a disabled vehicle may be cradled, the supports being carried by rails on which respective pairs of rocker arms are pivotally mounted. Each rocker arm carries a dolly support wheel and a mounting adapted to that a hydraulic jack may be positioned between the pair of rocker arms of each rail. Upon actuation of the hydraulic jack the rails and thus the wheel engaging supports are raised relative to the axles of the dolly wheels, thereby raising the wheels of a disabled vehicle cradled on the supports. A locking device is carried by each rocker arm for cooperating with a respective hold-down block on the rails after the rocker arm has been pivoted by actuation of the hydraulic jack so that the hydraulic jack may be removed while the disabled vehicle is towed.

Dolly for towing vehicles

In a multi-piece rim arrangement having a tapered base member and an associated tire bead seat band, the bead seat band is constructed to prevent tire inflation if the rim is improperly assembled. Included is a portable puller tool, adaptable to existing rim assemblies, that functions to pull the bead seat band against the lock ring of the multi-piece rim arrangement with sufficient force to insure proper positioning of the various rim members and establish air tight integrity with a mounted tire.

Rim construction and tool apparatus for safe tire inflation

A spline lubricating device comprises a capsule defining a chamber filled with lubricating fluid on one end of a splined shaft. The splined shaft and lubricating capsule is inserted into an internally splined member which contains a centrally disposed slinger, and a plunger mounted in the slinger for engaging the capsule for releasing the fluid from the lubricating capsule with the slinger directing the fluid to the spline teeth.

An articulated handle comprises a firm arm pivotally mounted on a stationary support and a second arm pivotally mounted on the first arm to pivot perpendicular relative to pivotal movements of the first arm. A lever is also pivotally mounted on the support and a connecting rod is pivotally interconnected between the lever and the second arm. The valve stems of adjacent control valves are operatively connected to the first arm and to the lever, respectively, whereby movement of the handle in one direction will actuate one valve and movement of the handle in a second, perpendicular direction will reciprocate the other valve.
