An automotive heat exchanger () has a heat exchanger core () including a header part () with a plurality of heat transfer tubes () and a head tank () with an opening receives end portions of the heat transfer tubes (). A plastic header plate () is secured with the header tank () and header part (). The header plate () includes a plurality of apertures () extending through the plate () that enable fluid passage. Each aperture () includes a cutout portion () that receives an end of a heat transfer tube (). The cutout portion () has a complimentary shape to mate with the end of the heat transfer tube (). A seal (), in the cutout portion (), seals the end of the heat transfer tube () with the header plate ().

Heat exchanger with a plastic header plate

A dedicated exhaust gas recirculation ('D-EGR') system of an internal combustion engine can include an exhaust recirculation passage, and a rotary valve. The recirculation passage can be coupled for fluid communication with an outlet of a D-EGR combustion chamber. The rotary valve can have a housing and a rotor. The housing can have a valve inlet coupled to the recirculation passage to receive exhaust gases from the recirculation passage, and a valve outlet coupled to an intake passage of the ICE to deliver exhaust gases from the rotary valve to the intake passage. The rotor can be disposed within the housing and rotatable relative to the housing. The rotor and housing can define a plurality of valve chambers.

Dedicated exhaust gas recirculation system

A housing has an outer pipe, an inner pipe, and an EGR inlet. The inner pipe is located inside the outer pipe. The inner pipe defines an inner passage internally. The inner pipe defines an annular passage externally with the outer pipe. The EGR inlet defines an EGR channel therein to communicate with the annular passage. The inner pipe has an end surface defining a throttle passage extending circumferentially. The throttle passage communicates the annular passage with the inner passage radially inward. The throttle passage is narrow on a side of the EGR channel and is wide on an opposite side of the EGR channel.

A fluid temperature stabilization system may employ an exterior casing defining an internal cavity, one or more phase change material may be located within the internal cavity. A fluid inlet may be located at a first end of the casing providing access into the internal cavity, and an outlet may be located at a second end of the casing providing fluid access from the internal cavity.

An air intake system for reducing air induction noise, which includes an air duct housing that has a lower shell and an upper shell, each having a first end and a second end and a plurality of tuning holes formed therein. The air intake system further includes an air duct that is connected to the air duct housing and includes a circumferential wall having an interior surface and an exterior surface. The circumferential wall defines an aperture between a first end and a second end. A venturi is formed between the first and second ends and restricts the amount of sound passing from the first end to the second end of the air duct. The circumferential wall has a predetermined thickness that enables sound to pass through the circumferential wall and into the air duct housing.

In an intake manifold, a resin intake air introduction portion has a semicircular lower intake pipe, a volume chamber and joints provided in the volume chamber at opposite sides and along an axis of the lower intake pipe. An aluminum intake air distribution portion has a semicircular upper intake pipe, which is combined with the lower intake conduit to constitute an intake conduit, and distribution pipes extending alternately in opposite directions so as to cross an axis of the upper intake pipe. The aluminum intake air distribution portion overlaps the resin intake air introduction portion on a side opposite to the engine. Each end of the distribution pipes is connected to the joints and each another end thereof is fixed to the engine. The lower intake pipe is provided in an axial center thereof with a communication bore through which intake air is supplied from the intake conduit via the volume chamber, the joints and the distribution pipes to the engine.
