Methods and systems for managing power for a Power over Ethernet (PoE) device are disclosed herein. The method may include obtaining, by a supervisor, power information from a plurality of power supply units (PSUs) to obtain total consumed power; obtaining, by the supervisor, a total system power capacity value associated with the plurality of PSUs; and calculating, by the supervisor, a total available PoE power value using the total consumed power and the total system power capacity value; and making a first determination, by the supervisor, using the total available PoE power value and a PoE power table, whether a powered device should stop receiving power.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) power management

Methods and systems for managing power for a Power over Ethernet (PoE) device are disclosed herein. The method may include: configuring a power sourcing equipment (PSE) controller component with an interface keep-on order that indicates a relative priority for providing power to interfaces of the PSE controller component; storing, by a supervisor, keep-on order values and interface identifiers in entries of a PoE power table; transmitting to the supervisor, by the PSE controller component, a first interface power draw value associated with a first interface and a second interface power draw value associated with a second interface; storing, by the supervisor, the interface power draw values entries associated with the respective interfaces; and performing, by the supervisor and in response to a power event, a power management action.

Power over ethernet (POE) power management

Methods and systems for managing power for a Power over Ethernet (PoE) device are disclosed herein. The method may include obtaining, by a supervisor, power information from a plurality of power supply units (PSUs) to obtain total power consumption information; obtaining, by the supervisor, a total system power capacity value for the plurality of PSUs; and making a determination, by the supervisor, using the total power consumption information, and the total system power capacity value, whether a powered device should stop receiving power.

Power over ethernet (PoE) power management

A power supply includes a power supply unit. The power supply unit includes a first housing configured to interface with one or more of housings of one or more fan modules. The power supply unit also includes a power generation unit disposed within the housing. The power generation unit may be configured to generate power for an electrical device. The power supply further includes a first connector configured to provide power to the one or more fan modules. The power may be used to operate one or more fan units of the one or more fan modules. The power supply also includes a fan module. The fan module includes a second housing configured to interface with the first housing. The fan module also includes a fan unit disposed within the second housing. The fan unit may be configured to generate an airflow through the first housing. The fan module further includes a first attachment member configured to interface with the first connector. The fan module further includes a second connector configured to receive power from the one or more power supplies and provide the power to the fan unit.

Power supply with interchangeable fan module

A number of load units are connected to receive power from a number of power supply units. A potential load bus is connected to have a voltage level representative of both a total potential power requirement of the number of load units and a total potential power supply capability of the number of power supply units. A first control circuit enables operation of the number of load units when the voltage level on the potential load bus indicates that a sufficient supply of power is available. An actual load bus is connected to have a voltage level representative of both an actual total power consumption of the number of load units and an actual total power supply available from of the number of power supply units. A second control circuit signals an impending loss of sufficient power supply based on the monitored voltage level on the actual load bus.

Autonomous power system with variable sources and loads and associated methods

A network system and computer component device rack having an integrated AC power distribution system is provided. The device rack and power distribution system includes a device rack frame having a plurality of locations for receiving network system and computer component devices within. The plurality of locations stacks network system and computer component devices one over another in a generally vertical orientation. A pair of AC power sequencers are mounted on an inner side panel, and a pair of power strips is provided along a rear edge. A plurality of compound angle AC jumper cords are provided for connecting network system and computer component devices to a plurality of power outlet receptacles on the pair of power strips.

Integrated component rack and AC power distribution

An apparatus for suppressing power bus bouncing in a hot-swappable system has been developed. The apparatus includes a connection module with three interior pins for: the power return; the power supply; and the system ground. The system ground pin is shorter than the other two so that it makes contact with the power bus after the bouncing from the return and supply pins has subsided.
