An obstruction detection system using a safety switch with a plurality of sensors is provided. The sensors include a sensing element molded in a casing and separated from an adjacent sensor by one of a plurality of connectors. A clip has a strip portion and a first attachment arm extending at an angle from the strip portion. A second attachment arm extends from the strip portion. A barb leg is disposed at an angle relative to the strip portion. The barb leg has a first leg end and a second leg end opposite the first leg end with the barb leg connected at the first leg end to the second attachment arm and the second leg end is disposed toward and spaced apart from the strip portion.

Sensor installations for motorized vehicle doors

A system for sensing the position of a movable bar is provided. The system includes a rotatable body positioned for rotation about an axis. The rotatable body is mechanically coupled with the movable bar such that the rotatable body rotates about the axis as the movable bar moves. A sensor is mechanically coupled with the rotatable body such that the sensor senses the rotation of the rotatable body as the movable bar moves.

Clips for attaching sensors, cables, or other items to doors, such as retrofitted armored vehicle doors, are provided. In one example embodiment, a clip includes a strip portion, a first attachment arm extending from the strip portion, and a second attachment arm extending from the strip portion. A barb leg is disposed at an angle relative to the strip portion and includes a first leg end and a second leg end opposite the first leg end. The barb leg is connected at the first leg end to the second attachment arm, and the second leg end is disposed towards and spaced apart from the strip portion. A cable clamp extends from an end of the second attachment arm opposite the strip portion or an end of the strip portion opposite the first attachment arm.

Mounting clips and sensor installations for motorized vehicle doors

A system and method of installing sensors around a perimeter of a motorized armored vehicle door to detect obstructions between a closing door and a door frame are provided. A safety switch including a plurality of sensors formed of a sensing element molded in a casing is provided. Adjacent sensors are separated from one another by electrical connectors. A clip is used to retrofit the safety switch to the door.

A clip for securing one object relative to another, such as securing an object to a vehicle door or frame is provided. The clip is useful for installing a strip of safety sensors around the circumference of a vehicle door retrofitted with a motorized assist system.

An interrupt system (10) having a plurality of electrical devices (12) having a time frame in which to examine an interrupt acknowledgement cycle, first and second lines (14 and 16) electrically connected to each of the electrical devices (12), a device (18) for issuing an interrupt signal on the first line (14), with said devices (12) determining during its time frame whether the cycle is intended for itself, and selected electrical devices (12) asserting a common acknowledgement signal on the second line (16) indicating the cycle is being serviced, such that removal of any electrical device (12) does not compromise the system interrupt capability.
