A lower limb load monitor for providing feedback to a patient or user when a preselected force load is met or exceeded on a patient's or user's foot. The device includes one or more thin film force sensing elements positioned beneath the user's foot and connected with control means for providing a signal when a predetermined threshold force is met.

Limb load monitor

A rotation sensor utilizing light reflection and/or refraction techniques including a light source, a light reflecting surface and a reflected light receiving member in which the elements are positioned so that the intensity of light reflected by the reflecting surface and received by the receiving member is unique for each rotational position being measured. The invention also relates to a method utilizing the above sensor.

Reflected light rotation sensor

A rotation sensor for measuring relative rotation or angular orientation between first and second members utilizing polarized light techniques. The present invention also relates to a method for measuring angular orientation using light polarization techniques.
