A twisting assembly (, or) for tightening an elongated flexible material () including a base part (, or) having a plurality of teeth (, or) arranged in a circle; and a twisting part (, or) adapted for rotating relative to the base part and the twisting part having a windlass portion (, or). A portion of the elongated flexible material can be operatively connected to the windlass portion such that when the windlass portion is rotated, the portion of the material is twisted. The twisting assembly is adapted to allow movement of the twisting part away from close engagement with the teeth of the base part to allow rotation of the twisting part in one rotational direction relative to the base part. The twisting assembly is adapted to cooperatively allow movement of the twisting part into close engagement with the teeth of the base part to prevent rotation of the twisting part in the opposite rotational direction.

Twisting assembly for tightening an elongated flexible material

A tourniquet with a twisting assembly including a base part having a plurality of teeth arranged in a circle; and a twisting part adapted for rotating relative to the base part and the twisting part having a windlass portion. A portion of a strap can be operatively connected to the windlass portion such that when the windlass portion is rotated, the portion of the strap is twisted. The twisting assembly is adapted to allow movement of the twisting part away from close engagement with the teeth of the base part to allow rotation of the twisting part in one rotational direction relative to the base part. The twisting assembly is adapted to cooperatively allow movement of the twisting part into close engagement with the teeth of the base part to prevent rotation of the twisting part in the opposite rotational direction.

Tourniquet with twisting assembly

The present invention contemplates a new device for adjustably attaching a tongue blade to an endoscope. In general, the device secures a tongue blade holder to the body of an endoscope and permits adjustment of the angle of the tongue blade with respect to the light source of the endoscope. Typically, the device has a clamp for receiving an endoscope body near the juncture of the handle and the light source of the endoscope. The clamp has a fastener for securing the clamp to the outer surface of the endoscope body and may be adapted for use with endoscopes somewhat larger or smaller in cross section than the clamp opening. The clamp has an attached tongue blade holder pivotably attached to the clamp and securable at an angle relative to the endoscope light source. The device also has several surfaces for the display of graphics.
