An adjustable muzzle brake in which an interior volume of the muzzle chamber can be varied without the use of tools which allows shooters to adjust the flow of the propellant gases and thereby allow shooters to determine and select the optimum recoil for their shooting preference.

A front access frame sealing mechanism for filter cassettes comprising at least one pair of posts extending inwardly from opposing sidewalls of a filter cassette housing wherein the posts have a head with a diameter exceeding that of the shaft of the post. At least one camming retainer is mounted adjacent each opposing sidewall about a post wherein each of camming retainer has a cam with a centrally oriented aperture with a diameter greater than the diameter of the post head for mounting about the posts. The cams have a flat portion and a extending handle portion, the flat portion becomes adjacent a sealing channel when in a sealing position. A sealing channel is adjacent each sidewall of the housing with a linear side adjacent front edges of at least one upstream filter cassette and having a channel holding each of the cams.

A beverage brewer with two modes of operation, an automatic mode in which water automatically flows into a reservoir for heating the water and is dispensed over beverage concentrate during a brewing cycle and a manual mode in which water is manually added to the brewer and dispensed over the beverage concentrate during the brewing cycle. The beverage brewer has a water level sensor system signaling the water level for auto-fill from an external water supply or fill by manual pour-over operations.

An apparatus for the preparation of ground material used to make a beverage includes an electrostatic precipitator to prevent the separation of chaff fines from a main stream of the ground material. The apparatus includes a grinder and a chute leading from an exit opening in the grinder to a receptacle for receiving the ground material. The electrostatic dissipator is positioned near the exit opening for minimizing the electrostatic charge on chaff fines created by the grinder, thereby preventing the separation of chaff fines from the main stream of ground material.

A coffee grinding apparatus for grinding coffee beans and distributing said beans into a basket for subsequent brewing of coffee having a pair of grinding disks where one of the disks is fixed to the housing and has an annular configuration with a central opening and the other disk further removed from the rotates with the drive shaft of the grinder motor. However, the rotating disk is mounted to the shaft so that it rotates with but is free to axially slide along the drive shaft. A coffee bean feed drive is mounted over the distal end of the drive shaft and moves coffee beans from the opening at the front end of the housing through the central opening of the stationary grinding burr. The feed drive is mounted to the shaft so that it rotates with but is also free to slide axially along the shaft. An adjusting mechanism is positioned adjacent to one end of the feed drive and functions to move the feed drive relative to the drive shaft. A biasing element yieldably biases the rotating burr in a direction toward the stationary grinding burr and the distal end of the drive shaft thereby causing the feed drive to continuously abut the adjusting mechanism. The yieldably biasing element permits the gap between burrs to widen during grinding in the event jamming is experienced.

The present invention involves a grinder/brewer coffee beverage dispensing apparatus having a pair of basket support arms with front end portions adapted to grasp beverage baskets and a configuration essentially complimentary to the circular shapes of beverage baskets. The arms are pivotally mounted for simultaneous horizontal and vertical movement with respect to the frame of the beverage dispensing apparatus, permitting the arms to graps baskets having varying flange widths and diameters.

A coffee bean grinding and brewing apparatus having a control circuit for initiating grinding and brewing cycles. The control circuit has a brew basket sensing switch that is positioned adjacent the brew basket retaining arms and is engaged into an open position by one of the arms when no basket is positioned between the arms and becomes closed when a basket is positioned between the arms. The control circuit does not initiate any cycle as long as the sensing switch is open avoiding the problem of grounds being delivered accidentally when no basket is present. Additionally, the control circuit has a grind-only switch and a brew-only switch that respectively permit an operator to select a grind-only or a brew only cycle when a basket is held properly between the arms. Finally, the circuit may be provided with a partial and full brew selector switches that permit an operator to select a full and predetermined amount of ground coffee and/or hot water to be delivered to the brew basket or a lesser amount, e.g., one half of the full amount, of ground coffee and/or hot water to the brew basket.
