Network System and Method for facilitating message exchange between mobile subscribers belonging to the same or different public land mobile networks, possibly incorporating different standards. Message exchange between two subscribers of the same or different networks may involve one or more lookups on subscription data, zero or more message transformations, one or more routing decisions including application of costing functions, and, storage and propagation of the message in one or more Core or Intermediary networks. The messages may be of type, among others, SMS (Short Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Message Service), or EMAIL.

Intermediary network system and method for facilitating message exchange between wireless networks

Systems and methods for assigning a short codes to provide uniformity among wireless carriers. In the systems and methods, a Universal Short Code (USC) Administrator maintains a list of short codes and their lease status so that SMS messages sent to a particular short code may be routed to the proper holder of the short code. A network facilitator is in communication with both the USC Administrator and at least one wireless carrier to route the SMS message to the proper holder of the short code. The short code may be leased for a specified period of time so that the short code can be reassigned after expiration of the lease.

Apparatus and method for folding cohesive coated material like corrugated paper and coated film about three dimensional solids like paper products, toys, machinery and books for transport is accomplished by a framework supporting a roll or other supply of the cohesive coated material, a guide for the material, a platform for a cutting blade and an end frame or mandrel and a movable U-shaped crimping frame for forcing the leading sheet of coated paper or film back into contact with itself around the object to be packaged. The apparatus may support horizontally a roll or other supply of cohesive coated paper or film that is conducted over a horizontal shelf beneath a restraining strip and then passed over a rounded mandrel until a proper length is beyond the mandrel so as to encompass the object to be wrapped or packaged, the paper being pulled over the mandrel by contact with a crimping frame of rounded tubing that is articulate with respect to the mandrel. Then the crimping frame is reversed in motion and the paper or film is returned to a vertical position in contact with the object and is then forced about the mandrel by the crimping frame to adhere to itself on three sides of the object and be cut from the roll end when crimping is complete. The crimping of the material is very important to good packaging, but contact pressure alone is sufficient to seal the package and may be accomplished by either the preferred cylindrical tubing or by angle or square tubing.

Packaging with cohesive coated materials

This invention provides a method for cold extruding 18% nickel maraging steel to form an article of manufacture, such as a sub projectile blank for the manufacture of cannon rounds which includes performing a series of cold extrusion operations on an extrusion blank with a tapered punch to produce a combination forward extrusion and backward extrusion. On the first cold extrusion operation a tapered hole is formed in the extrusion blank and the extrusion blank is elongated. Subsequent cold extrusion operations progressively elongate both the extrusion blank and the tapered hole. The punch and die geometry are such that the tapered hole is elongated by penetration of the punch into the blank and additionally backward extrusion of the material around the punch. Additionally, as the tapered hole becomes increasingly longer, a floating punch is employed wherein at least a portion of the punch is supported by the walls of the tapered hole.

A reconditionable drill bit assembly comprising a drill bit body having a thrust face at one end and a head section separably connected to the drill bit body, the head section including a working face and an opposite rear face engaging the thrust face of the drill bit body, a plurality of bores extending through the head section and opening on the working face, the bores including a tapered seat portion adjacent the working face and a generally cylindrical section extending from the seat portion to the rear face, a tapered carbide cutting insert seated in the seat portion and a back-up pin located in the cylindrical section engaging the inner end of the cutting insert and the thrust face to hold the cutting insert in place whereby the cutting inserts are replaceable by separating the head section the drill bit body and removing the back-up pins and the cutting inserts through the cylindrical sections of the bores.
