Examples of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for an encapsulated heating cable within a wellbore. Embodiments may have the durability required for the hazardous and harsh environment of a wellbore, and to provide sufficient heat within the production string to reduce and/or eliminate deposits.

Methods and systems for a tool with encapsulated heating cable within a wellbore

In one general implementation, a method for identifying fluids in a wellbore includes generating light in a visible spectrum from a light source in a production wellbore; generating light in an ultraviolet spectrum from the light source in the production wellbore; receiving a first fluid in the production wellbore from a subterranean zone; receiving a second fluid in the production wellbore from the subterranean zone; capturing at least one image of a combined flow of the first fluid and the second fluid in at least one of the visible spectrum and the ultraviolet spectrum with an optical receiver in the production wellbore; and distinguishing, at least in part through the image, the first fluid from the second fluid in either or both the visible and ultraviolet spectrums.

Detecting fluids in a wellbore

Method for fracturing coal seams to improve the production (e.g. methane and/or water) therefrom. A water-based fracturing fluid is injected into the coal seam under pressure wherein the fracturing fluid contains both a wetting agent and a dispersant. The wetting agent contacts the fines which are formed during the fracturing of the coal and converts them from 'hydrophobic' to 'hydrophilic' while the dispersant serves to disperse and suspend the fines within the fracturing fluid. This prevents early screen-out of the fines from the fracturing fluid which allows the fluid to propagate fractures of longer lengths into a coal seam before the fines settle out to block further flow through a fracture.
