A damper unit for an air circulation system. The damper unit includes a frame defining an air flow opening, a damper vane for opening and closing the air flow opening, and a drive mechanism for turning the damper vane between the open and closed positions. The vane of the damper unit includes a main body and vane turning surfaces that project outwardly from the main body. The vane turning surfaces are configured for converting air flow into torque for assisting the drive mechanism in turning the damper vane between the open and closed positions.

A damper unit for an air circulation system. The damper unit includes an air flow opening, a damper vane for opening and closing the air flow opening, and a motor for moving the damper vane between the open and closed positions. The damper also includes at least two ports, each port being operable in an input and an output mode. When a control signal is received on one port, the signal is sent out on the other port, and vice versa. The ports can be identical in shape to receive the same shaped plug.

Bi-directional connections for daisy-chained dampers

An actuator mounting device for mounting an actuator having an actuator housing to a support structure associated with a fluid flow control unit. The actuator mounting device includes a mounting bracket and a pair of guide members. The mounting bracket includes a pair of spaced side walls, a rail extending from each side wall, and a stop. The pair of spaced side walls define a leading end and a trailing end. Further, each of the side walls has a base portion securable to the support structure. Finally, the stop is positioned at the trailing end of the spaced side walls. The pair of guide members are each configured to be mountable to an opposing side of the actuator housing and each include an engagement surface configured to slidably engage one of said rails. During assembly of the actuator to the support structure, the rails direct the guide members to a secured position at which the actuator housing is connected to the stop.

Actuator mounting assembly

An adapter is designed to connect a member such as a shaft to the hub forming the output element of an actuator. The adapter includes a connection feature which attaches to the member, and a shaft which mates with the bore in the actuator hub. The adapter has a resilient arm attached to the end of the shaft and which extends through the bore. The shaft also carries a stop element. The arm carries a retainer feature at its end. With the shaft mated with the bore, when the arm is undeflected the retainer feature engages an adjacent end surface of the hub to lock the adapter into place. The arm can be deflected to disengage the retainer feature from the hub and allow the adapter to be removed. In one embodiment, the end surface of the hub and the retainer surface are beveled or slanted to strongly oppose axial loads and yet to allow the adapter to withdraw from the hub's bore upon deflecting the arm.

Shaft to actuator hub adapter

A punch assembly includes a frame that has a pair of arms forming a deep throat for receiving material to be punched, and a single acting punch and die set held by the outer ends of the arms. The punch is actuated with a lever mounting a swing frame that is supported so that when the punch is to be changed, the swing frame can be moved out the way and the punch removed. The die can also be removed when the swing frame is moved away from its working position. The punch can be actuated through the lever either with a manual handle, or with a power actuator.

Controller for an energy management system

A bi-directional alternating current permanent magnet motor is disclosed that is operated with a rotational restraint that insures proper directional rotation of a load. The motor output shaft is loosly coupled to a pinion gear. In the event that the motor is unable to start in the correct direction, and inadvertently reverses itself, it is immediately unloaded. This unloading causes the motor to stop and start again in the correct direction with a momentum that typically is sufficient to run the motor and its gear train in the correct direction.
