A buttering device for coating the outside of hot vegetables with butter or similar coating includes a hollow receptacle to hold the butter that has the shape of a truncated wedge. The receptacle has a relatively narrow discharge opening and a relatively wide supply opening.

A method is disclosed for making a wire-receiving barrel terminal having a barrel with a desired inner diameter comprising the steps of: selecting a metal stock having the desired properties; stamping a terminal blank 12 having a forward portion 14 adapted to be formed into at least one contact section, an intermediate portion 16 extending rearwardly from said forward portion 14 and a rearward portion 18 adapted to be formed into first and second barrel sections 20, 32. The second barrel section 32 of said rearward portion is joined integrally with and extends rearwardly from said intermediate portion 16 and the first barrel section 20 is joined integrally with and extends from the second barrel section 32. The first and second barrel sections 20, 32 are generally rectangular and each has at least one lateral edge, and a lateral dimension equal to the circumference of a circle of desired wire receiving barrel inner diameter. In one embodiment first barrel section 20 is laterally offset from second barrel section 32 by bight section 42. A seamed barrel shaped member 44 is formed from first barrel section 20. Seamed outer barrel member 50 from second contact section 32 is formed around barrel-shaped member 44 after disposition thereof along a major surface of second barrel section 5 by bending at bight section 42. The seams 46, 52 of barrel terminal member 58 are essentially diametrically opposed and a continuous portion of the outer barrel member 50 overlies the inner slam 46. In another embodiment, a spiral double walled barrel 158 is formed by rolling, rearward portion 118 into barrel 158 having lateral edges 60, 62 thereof along a continuous wall portion.

Method for making a wire barrel terminal

A wire-receiving barrel terminal comprises first and second terminal portions 12, 32, which together define a dual contact portion 76, dual transition portion 78 and double barrel portion 80. The first and second terminal portions 12, 32, each include respective at least one contact section 14, 36, respective transition portions 16, 60 being joined integrally with and extending rearwardly from the corresponding at least one first contact section 14, 36 respectively and respective barrel sections 18, 62, joined integrally with and extending rearwardly from the respective transition portions 16, 60. The first barrel section 18 being joined integrally with and extending from said second barrel section 62, the first and second barrel sections 18, 62 being generally rectangular, each having at least one lateral edge 24, 70 and a respective lateral dimension at least equal to the circumference of a circle of a desired wire-receiving barrel inner diameter. The first barrel section 18 is formed into a barrel-shaped member 30 having its axis parallel to the at least one respective lateral edge of the first barrel section 18 and the second barrel section 62 is formed circumferentially around and adjacent the first barrel section defining a wire-receiving barrel having inner and outer walls. After forming terminal 10, first contact section 14 and first transition portion 16 extend respectively along second contact section 36 and second transition portion 60 thereby defining dual contact portion 76, and dual transition portion 78, respectively. The resulting wire-receiving barrel has substantially two wall thicknesses circumferentially therearound with no open seam and the two transition portions 16, 60 provide a plurality of contact paths for current passed through said terminal.

Electrical contact terminal

An electrical terminal 10 stamped and formed from a single thickness of metal stock comprises a hollow body portion 12 and a plurality of contact sections 22, 24 extending forwardly therefrom, first and second opposing transition portions 36, 42, and a double layer barrel portion 48. The transition portions 36, 42 coextend rearwardly from respective opposing side sections 14, 16 of hollow body portion 12. The double layer barrel portion 48 includes first and second barrel sections 50, 56, which extends rearwardly from respective first and second transition portions 36, 42, the first barrel section 50 being nested within the second barrel section 56 such that a seam 53 of first barrel section 50 is basically diametrically opposed from a seam 59 of second barrel section 56 and a continuous portion of second barrel section 56 overlies the seam 53 of said first barrel section 50. Upon crimping double barrel portion 48 to a wire member 70, barrel portion 48 simulates a continuous annular body and first and second transition portions 36, 42 provide for improved transmission of current from wire 70 and through terminal 10 without excessive heating. A method for making terminal 10 is also disclosed herein.

A strip of hermaphroditic modular connector housings (10) interlinked by complementary male and female links (14 and 15 respectively). The male link (14) comprising a head (27) joined to a housing wall (11') by a neck (28) and the female link (15) comprising a pair of resilient arms (16) extending in spaced relation from the side wall (11) with free ends (17) projecting towards each other to define a through socket (18). Stop shoulders (20-23) are provided at opposite axial ends of the through socket (18) offset on opposite sides of the socket axis past which stop shoulders (20-23) the head (27) can be forced to be received in the socket (18).

Modular connector housing strip

An electrical connector housing for flat cable comprising first and second members movable between mutually adjacent and remote positions corresponding to closed and open conditions of the housing respectively. Latching means comprise a latch bar and a release bar supported for deflection adjacent an end of one member and extending spaced apart in side-by-side relation interconnected by a plurality of transverse struts to defining an eye. A catch means on the other member is receivable in the eye in latching engagement with the latching bar in the closed condition of the connector housing, movement of the release bar in the direction of the latch bar deflecting the latch bar, thereby to disengage the catch means from the latch bar. The latch bar and release bar are resiliently flexible and the latch bar is joined at respective opposite ends of a slot to the one member by relatively rigid webs, deflection of the release bar towards the one member flexing the latch bar to disengage the catch member from the latch bar. The latch bar carries catch portions, the catch portions adjacent lateral ends of the bar being located rearwardly, in the direction of deflection, of catch portions adjacent central portions of the bar.

Electrical connector for flat cable

A strip socket for DIP leads has electrical terminals for direct mounting of the leads in a PCB. The socket has a strap which clamps securely to the DIP device and simultaneously cams the electrical terminals of the socket into electrical engagement with the DIP leads.
