A conventional variable-displacement, axial piston-type hydraulic fluid pump having a pump housing is provided with co-operating pump rotational speed, thrust plate position, and working pressure operating-condition sensor assemblies that are partially contained within the pump housing, that are partially contained within a separate position sensor housing which is removably secured to the pump housing, and that are sealed against high-pressure fluid leakage using only static resilient fluid pressure seals.

Variable-displacement axial piston pump

An integrated electric motor-driven in-line hydraulic pump that includes a housing with an internal shaft, and a cylinder block mounted for rotation on the shaft. The rotor of an electric motor has an internally affixed bearing sleeve that is rotatably supported with respect to the shaft surrounding the cylinder block within the housing. Teeth on the sleeve engage splines on the cylinder block for rotatably coupling the rotor to the cylinder block. The stator of the electric motor is affixed within the housing surrounding the rotor. Pistons are operatively coupled to the cylinder block and engage a yoke plate for obtaining positive displacement pumping action upon energization of the motor. Fluid inlet and outlet ports feed hydraulic fluid through the housing to the cylinder block and pistons, and from the cylinder block to the outlet port.

Integrated electric motor driven in line hydraulic pump

A rotary hydraulic machine which includes a housing having a shaft mounted for rotation within the housing about a shaft axis. A cylinder block is coupled to the shaft for co-rotation with the shaft within the housing and includes a plurality of cylinders disposed in a circumferential array parallel to and surrounding the shaft axis. A piston is disposed to reciprocate within each of the cylinders and is coupled to a yoke for determining displacement of the pistons within the cylinders. A valve plate is mounted on a valve block and includes kidney-shaped slots for registering with the cylinders as the cylinder block rotates, and thereby connecting the cylinders to pump input and output ports. A microprocessor-based controller is externally mounted on the pump valve block and includes internal memory having various remotely-selectable control programs prestored therein. Sensors responsive to pump operating conditions are connected to the pump control electronics, and include a first sensor responsive to yoke position, a pressure sensor responsive to pump output pressure and a speed sensor responsive to angular velocity of shaft rotation. All of the electronic components are mounted on the valve block.

A bearing comprising a body of polymeric material and a reinforcing member embedded in the body and having a plurality of perforations throughout which are affixed in the reinforcing member. The polymeric material extends through the perforations. The bearing may have various configurations. The reinforcing member may comprise a thin metal sheet having perforations therein, a woven metal body defining the perforations, or adjacent woven metal bodies each having perforations. In one form, a backing member is adhered to on one side of said reinforcing member. Where a thin metal sheet is used, it has a roughened surface finish at the interface with the plastic body.

A variable speed pressure energy translating device including a plurality of axially extending pistons and associated cylinders and a yoke engaged by the pistons and pivoted on a transverse axis for varying the displacement thereof, and a housing having spaced saddle bearing seats. The yoke has spaced complementary saddle bearing engaging portions and an arcuate bearing is seated in each of said seats. Each bearing comprises an arcuate body of polymeric material and an arcuate reinforcing member embedded in the body and having a plurality of perforations throughout which are fixed in the reinforcing member with the polymeric material extending through said perforations.
