A leakage current protection system includes a current transformer disposed about current-carrying conductors that extend from first ends to second ends. The first ends are coupled to load receptacles. The current transformer detects an aggregate differential current between the conductors. Each of a plurality of circuit breakers is coupled to the second ends of the conductors that are coupled to a corresponding one of the load receptacles. Each circuit breaker is coupled to a source of electrical power. A differential current monitor coupled to the current transformer generates a signal when the aggregate differential current exceeds a threshold current. Each of a plurality of shunt-trips coupled to the differential current monitor receives the signal. Each of the shunt-trips opens a corresponding one of the circuit breakers when the signal is received so that all of the circuit breakers are opened simultaneously.

Leakage current protection system for marinas

A receptacle breakaway system for power pedestals includes an electric power receptacle having a body and mounting ears with an axis passing through the body and mounting ears. A mounting plate having a hole passing there through is configured for passage of the receptacle's body wherein the mounting ears engage a face of the mounting plate. A first retainer is rigidly coupled to the mounting plate at a first position offset from the receptacle's axis. The first retainer extends at least partially over a first of the mounting ears. A second retainer is rigidly coupled to the mounting plate at a second position offset from the receptacle's axis. The second retainer extends at least partially over a second of the mounting ears. The receptacle's axis passes between the first position and second position.

A power housing assembly includes a housing having a side thereof that is at least partially open. A faceplate, coupled to the open side at a first hinge position, can articulate about the first hinge position between a first position and a second position. The faceplate includes a substantially L-shaped portion that resides (i) in the housing when the faceplate is in its first position, and (ii) outside of the housing when the faceplate is in its second position.

A system and method are provided for monitoring and reporting leakage currents caused by a load that is coupled to an AC supply line. A sensor positioned adjacent to an AC supply line senses an amperage difference between currents traveling along the AC supply line. A processor coupled to the sensor compares the amperage difference to a threshold value. A reporting device coupled to the processor generates a report at least when the amperage difference exceeds the threshold value.

A transformer system includes a cabinet and at least one toroidal transformer with each toroidal transformer being supported in a cradle. Each cradle is mounted in the cabinet and supports its toroidal transformer in a vertical or horizontal orientation such that a central air-filled region thereof is arranged in a substantially horizontal or vertical orientation, respectively. The cradle supports active and passive cooling arrangements for the toroidal transformer, while also providing modular attributes for the transformer system.

A waterproof hinge-less door assembly is provided for an outdoor electrical enclosure, such as an electrical power pedestal. The electrical power pedestal includes a housing having an exterior and an opening, and an electrical component, such as a power receptacle, housed by the housing and accessible from the exterior of the housing through the opening. The hinge-less door assembly includes a mounting element coupled to the housing at or about the opening of the housing, a door operable among an open position in which access to the at least one electrical component is provided through the opening of the housing, and a closed position in which the door assembly provides a substantially weatherproof cover for the opening of the housing and the electrical component(s) housed by the housing, and a hinge-less coupling mechanism pivotably coupling the door to the mounting element. One or more weather shields provide further weather-resistance.

Lower and utility distribution pedestal for boats and recreational

A utility pedestal primarily designed as a marina power pedestal but useful in connection with recreational vehicles and other power consuming units. Twin half shell housing members joined by an anodized aluminum strip closure member forms an upper pedestal. The strip closure member has an inner extending flange to which a central divider is secured to divide the upper pedestal into two substantially symmetrical compartments, one for high voltage and one for low voltage such as telephones and cable television. An open bottom base pedestal supports the upper pedestal and is secured to the dock pier. It contains the water utilities and is provided with a slotted top to introduce high voltage cables into the high voltage compartment of the upper pedestal. Because each utility pedestal services two units, the compartmentalized upper pedestal is provided with conduits for transferring low voltage cables through the high voltage compartment and for isolating high voltage cables from low voltage components in the low voltage compartment.
