A cap assembly for a container that includes an outer-shell and an inner-element that is received within the outer shell. The outer shell includes a recess on the interior surface of a top portion and the recess includes a top flange section that restricts the opening. The recess receives a complementary end wall that extends from the inner-element and which has a lip that mechanically locks within the recess thereby keeping the shell and liner together. In embodiments a clutch plate is positioned between the shell and liner.

A vehicle control system is disclosed that includes a forward-facing signal sensor operable to detect transmitted data signals reflecting a presence, relative distance and relative location of a first forward obstruction in front of a vehicle, an on-board vehicle status sensor configured to generate a status signal reflecting the speed of the vehicle, a processor to receive the transmitted data signals the forward obstruction and (2) the status sensor signals and (3) a relay signal receiver adapted to receive a signal from the forward obstruction and originating from a source remote from the forward obstruction, and a signal transmitter adapted to transmit information to a following vehicle, wherein the information includes the status signal and information from said forward facing signal sensor and the relay signal and the processor creates a vehicle control signal in response to a collision avoidance algorithm run by the processor that uses data from said forward facing signal detectors, the status signal and the relay signal in the event that said algorithm determines that a collision is imminent.

A system and method for providing an alert warning to a driver of a that includes forward facing vehicle sensors that can detect the presence and relative distance of a forward obstruction in a travel lane immediately in front of the vehicle, a processor for receiving signals from the forward sensor and for processing the signal to determine the relative speed, acceleration and or deceleration of the forward obstruction, a forward signal receiver adapted to receive a signal from a forward obstruction, a rear signal transmitter for transmitting information relating to the vehicle and any forward obstructions a following vehicle, and an driver alert device to warn a driver if a collision is imminent unless evasive action is implemented.

Cap assembly with integrated liner and outer shell

The present invention is a brake system for wheeled skates, and in particular in line skates. The brake system consists of at least one brake disk, but preferably two sets of interleaving disks. The first set of disks are keyed to a wheel's shaft, and the second set of disks are keyed to the inner hub of the wheel. The first set of disks cannot rotate around the shaft which is fixedly attached to the frame of the skate. The second set of disks rotate with the wheel. Both sets of disks are free to move axially. To brake, a skater shifts his weight onto the outside of his feet, which causes both the first set and second set of disks to move towards the inside of the skate and compress together. The frictional force between the rotating second set of disks and the nonrotating first set of disks causes the second set of disks to decrease in rotational speed. The slowing of the second set of disks which are keyed to the wheel causes the wheel to commensurately slow down and, if the pressure is maintained, come to a stop.

A mold used in centrifuge casting is cooled by taking advantage of inherent characteristics of the centrifugal casting process, and in particular the shape of the remaining sprue. The sprue has a conical profile and a conical depression formed by a vortex which results from the spinning mold. The cooling apparatus comprises a housing and plunger which engage the surface of the sprue and draw heat from the mold. Thermal conduction from the hot metal through the runners and sprue to the cooling head allows a mold to cool faster than traditional methods.

A new and useful improvement in sterile thermometer sheaths. The improved sheath may be constructed by providing a weakened area in the laminated cover of the sheath immediately adjacent the closed end of the sheath. In use the cover is slid backwards in an accordian-like fashion along the length of said sheath thereby exposing said sheath through the weakened cover area for use in taking a patient's temperature and the contaminated sheath may be recovered before disposal.

Each sleeve is formed of a single section of material which is folded and joined by a seam located along the upper edge of the sleeve. The gown further includes a back portion joined to the front panel and sleeves.

A catamenial tampon comprising an elongated core of conventional highly absorbent fibrous material which is relatively incompressible and enclosed by a sheath of open-celled resilient foam. The foam transmits by capillary action, fluids from the exterior of the tampon inwardly to the fibrous core. The reticulated foam sheath also isolates the core from the effects of compression which may be caused by muscular activity or by withdrawal.
