Medical device data is transferred using a universal adaptor between an implanted medical device and hospital monitoring systems. The universal adaptor is an interface compatible with various built-in hospital monitoring network comprised of equipment from a variety of manufacturers. The universal adaptor includes a telemetry circuitry, a calibration system for atmospheric pressure and an analog interface. The calibration system relates to barometric correction and includes an external pressure reference system.

Catheter

A system for long term monitoring of an internal patient medical parameter having an external reference and means to correct the internal measurements of the parameter via external measurements taken by the external reference. A coordinating device makes the correction and makes available a histogram-based record of the parameter over time. This information can be used to reprogram an implantable device or for other therapeutic or diagnostic purposes. Pressure sensor embodiment is detailed.

A differential gear that includes a cage in which there is disposed first and second rotatable cylinders positioned adjacent to one another, each rotatable cylinder having an elliptically-shaped groove in its surface and a sphere in each groove in contact with the cage as the cylinders are rotated. The first and second rotatable cylinders are rotatable only in opposite directions.

Limited slip differential using a continuous worm gear

A sense amplifier for a cardiac pacemaker which has an amplifier section with two feedback paths. One path contains small valued capacitors and clock activated switches to form a discrete time feedback path. The other path contains unclocked passive components to form a continuous time feedback path. The sense amplifier generates a detect signal in response to a depolarization of cardiac tissue.
