Embodiments of the disclosure provide methods and systems for evaluating and recording a property of a system of interest (SOI) such as, e.g., a property of artificial intelligence (AI), and recording a change to the property of the SOI, e.g., recording a morphism of AI. Recording an SOI property, and any property changes, may include recording a digital property of the SOI to a blockchain. An SOI morphism may be recorded to a blockchain as one or more hash values of an encoding of the SOI. An SOI morphism may be autonomously or exogenously generated and recorded to the blockchain. The records on the blockchain may indemnify one or more parties associated with the SOI. Indemnifying may include executing a smart contract on a blockchain to mitigate risk of loss. An SOI may be asked to complete one or more tests to distinguish between a human, AI, and non-AI programs.

System and method to indemnify artificial intelligence on a blockchain

Various embodiments include an exemplary apparatus and method for insitu calibration of multiple flow-sensing devices within a dilution system. In one example, a calibration and dilution system includes a first mass-flow device to serve as a global reference, a second mass-flow device configured to be coupled to and provide a supply of clean gas to a primary diluter, and a third mass-flow device configured to be coupled to and provide a supply of clean gas to a secondary diluter, where the diluters are pneumatically coupled to one another through a gas-supply line. Multiple valves are coupled to at least the mass-flow devices and the diluters. The calibration and dilution system is arranged so that the mass-flow controllers can be calibrated in-situ without having to remove any of the mass-flow controllers from the calibration and dilution system. Other apparatuses, designs, and methods are disclosed.

Various embodiments include methods and systems to dilute a sampled particle-laden aerosol stream in a recirculating type of aerosol diluter system. In one embodiment, a system to dilute a sampled aerosol stream includes an aerosol sample inlet. A primary diluter device includes a first inlet to receive the aerosol stream and a second inlet to receive a filtered portion of the aerosol stream and combining the filtered portion with an additional sampled aerosol stream. A flow diverter device splits at least the sampled aerosol stream into a first portion of the sampled aerosol stream and a remaining portion of the sampled aerosol stream. A filter receives the remaining portion of the sampled aerosol stream and provides a filtered aerosol stream to the second inlet of the primary diluter device. Other methods and apparatuses are disclosed.

Passive aerosol diluter mechanism

Various embodiments include methods and systems to dilute a sampled particle-laden aerosol stream. In one embodiment, a system to dilute a sampled aerosol stream includes an aerosol sample inlet. A filter is coupled in fluid communication with and in parallel with a flow-monitoring device to receive the sampled aerosol stream from the aerosol sample inlet. The flow-monitoring device is configured to allow for a passage of particles contained in the sampled aerosol stream. A pressure sensor and a temperature sensor monitor the filter and the flow-monitoring device. An output from the filter and the flow-monitoring device may be directed to particle measurement or particle sizing instrumentation. An actual dilution ratio of the output sent to the particle measurement or particle sizing instrumentation is determined based on a nominal flowrate of the flow-monitoring device and thermodynamic properties of a gas comprising the aerosol stream. Other methods and apparatuses are disclosed.

A fast acting and adjustable vise is disclosed herein having an elongated base movably supporting a pair of jaws adjustable between opposing holding surfaces for releasably supporting small parts or workpieces. Manually rotatable wheels are operably coupled to each jaw for independent and separate movement along a linear path and a universal mounting device adjustably supports the vise on a supporting surface. In one form, one jaw of the pair includes a finger-operated resilient clamp for selectively and rapidly positioning the clamp to a desired location on the base.

Versatile wide opening vise

A unitary opener device for tab-type cans, which is extremely inexpensive to fabricate, simple to use and reliable in operation. A first embodiment comprises a unitary member having a handle portion adapted to be gripped by a user, and a working end portion having a pair of relatively inflexible nose portions, the nose portions being separated by a slot dimensioned to receive the exposed portion of the can opening tab. One of the nose portions has a shorter length than the other, while each of the nose portions is provided with an external convex fulcrum surface adapted to engage the can surface bearing the tab to assist in raising the exposed portion of the tab away from the can surface and rupturing the seal between the tab and the can surface. A second embodiment comprises a unitary member having a handle portion adapted to be gripped by a user, and a working end portion having a single relatively inflexible nose portion dimensioned to be received in an aperture in the exposed portion of the can opening tab in frictional engagement therewith, so that insertion of the nose portion into the tab aperture, followed by rotation of the handle portion in a plane substantially perpendicular to the can surface, provides an opening force sufficient to rupture the seal between the tab and the can surface. The handle portion includes an inner surface with a portion adapted to contact the edge of the can, permitting the device to function as a handle.

A first plate is provided and a second plate is disposed generally normal and secured to the first plate centrally intermediate opposite marginal portions thereof with the second plate projecting outwardly from a first side of the first plate and disposed normal to a path extending between the opposite marginal portions of the first plate. An elongated abutment member including opposite end portions and an intermediate portion extending between the opposite end portions is provided and the end portions of the abutment member are offset to one side of the intermediate portion thereof. The intermediate portion of the abutment member has a central opening formed therethrough and the second plate includes an elongated endwise outwardly projecting mounting portion on its outer end remote from the first plate. The abutment member is mounted on the mounting portion with the latter loosely received through the central opening and the aforementioned one side of the intermediate portion opposing the aforementioned first side of the first plate for movement of the abutment member on the mounting portion toward and away from the first plate and the limited angular displacement of the abutment member relative to the mounting portion about an axis generally paralleling the plates. Adjustable displacement means is operatively connected between the mounting portion and the abutment member intermediate portion for adjustable displacement of the abutment member along the mounting portion toward the first plate. Adjacent marginal edges of tabletops may be clamped between the opposite ends of the first plate and the opposite ends of the abutment member, on opposite sides of the second plate, with the surfaces of the tabletops opposing the aforementioned first side of the first plate disposed substantially co-planar.
