A ball valve assembly is provided. The ball valve assembly comprises a pipe section having an axial bore for enabling fluid flow therethrough in use; a valve ball having an internal conduit, the valve ball being mounted within the pipe section and being for rotation with respect to the pipe section between an open position in which fluid within the axial bore may flow through the internal conduit and a closed position in which the internal conduit is inaccessible to fluid within the axial bore; a device configured to rotate the valve ball, the device being located radially outside the axial bore; and an encapsulation positioned to receive the valve ball and having portions located radially between the pipe bore and the device configured to rotate the valve ball, such that the encapsulation prevents fluid within the axial bore from accessing the device configured to rotate the valve ball.

Ball valve assembly

A ball valve assembly includes an enclosure for supporting the ball valve during actuation. In one embodiment, the enclosure can be a split enclosure, and can have trunnion support apertures for engaging trunnions on the ball valve. In one embodiment, a pair of link arms are used to transfer force from a pair of actuation members to the ball valve. The link arms can be located in a recess on the actuation members, such the actuation members and the face of the trunnions define a cavity to enclose and protect the link arms.

Ball valve enclosure and drive mechanism

During the completion of a subsea horizontal tree, a tubing hanger and internal tree cap are run together with the same running tool and running string. The running tool has a linking assembly that connects the tree cap to the tubing hanger during running, retrieval, or workover, so that the tree cap supports the weight of the tubing hanger and string of tubing. The linking assembly can be retrieved with the running tool or retrieved on wireline through the running string.

Method of running a tubing hanger and internal tree cap simultaneously

An electrical penetrator connector has a fixed coupler pin unit which incorporates a pin having a conductive element. A reciprocatable component includes a housing defining a bore into which the pin may be inserted. Within the bore is a retractable shuttle pin. A chamber contains dielectric fluid. A flow path for the dielectric fluid is configured to move the fluid past a contact in the bore which is to touch the contact on the pin. The dielectric fluid circulates round the flow path every time the pin is inserted into the bore.

Electrical penetrator connector

A device automatically makes up a riser string from riser spools, each having an ancillary line and dog-type connectors. A support member supports a second riser spool for connection. A torque arm above the support member hinges open to accept a first riser spool and hinges close to engage the first spool and rotate the first spool to align its ancillary line with the ancillary line of the second spool. A guide arm above the support member hinges open to accept the first spool and hinges closed to engage and radially position the first spool while allowing vertical movement of the first spool. Connector actuators are positioned around the support member to actuate the connectors when the first spool is lowered onto the second spool.
