A scrolled resilient sheet is installed against the inner surface of a fluid conduit using a carrier tool from which a resilient sheet having an average thickness more than 2 mm and an elastic or pseudoelastic recoverable strain of at least 0.6% is released so that the sheet expands with an expansion force which is sufficiently high to allow the sheet to press itself into place alongside the inner surface of the conduit and to remain in place after installation.

A method is provided for creating zonal isolation between the exterior and interior of an uncased section of an underground well system which is located adjacent to a well section in which a well casing is present. The method includes inserting an expandable tubular through the existing well casing into an uncased section, such as a lateral branch, of the underground well system and subsequently expanding the expandable tubular such that the one end is pressed towards the wall of the uncased section of the well system and the outer surface of the other end is pressed against the inner surface of the well casing thereby creating an interference fit capable of achieving a shear bond and a hydraulic seal between the surrounding surfaces.

The invention relates to a method of creating a casing in a borehole formed in an underground formation. The method comprises the steps of (a) installing a tubular liner in the borehole, the liner being radially expandable in the borehole whereby the liner in its radially expanded position has a plurality of openings which are overlapping in the longitudinal direction of the liner, (b) radially expanding the liner in the borehole, and (c) either before or after step (b), installing a body of hardenable fluidic sealing material in the borehole so that the sealing material fills said openings and thereby substantially closes said openings. The sealing material is selected so as to harden in said openings and thereby to increase the compressive strength of the liner.

Method of creating a casing in a borehole

A method of producing a fluid from an earth formation is disclosed having a first fluid zone, a second fluid zone extending at a horizontal distance from the first fluid zone and a barrier zone located between said fluid zones. The fluid is produced through a production wellbore having a fluid inlet located in the first fluid zone. The method includes creating an inclined wellbore section being part of an auxiliary wellbore formed in the earth formation, the inclined wellbore section extending through the first fluid zone, the barrier zone and the second fluid zone so as to provide fluid communication between the fluid zones, closing the auxiliary wellbore at a selected location so as to prevent flow of fluid from the fluid zones through the auxiliary wellbore to the earth surface, and producing fluid flowing from the second fluid zone via the inclined wellbore section into the first fluid zone and through the production wellbore.

An impermeable and continuous coating is formed on the wall of a borehole in which a drill string is present by injecting coating forming components and a carrier fluid through the drill string. Subsequently the coating forming components are separated, e.g. in a decanting centrifuge, from the carrier fluid and plastered to the wellbore as a continuous layer.
