Embodiments of the present invention are directed to recoilers, merchandise security systems, and methods for displaying and protecting an article of merchandise from theft. In one example, the merchandise security system includes a sensor configured to be secured to the article of merchandise and a base for removably supporting the sensor and the item of merchandise thereon. The system also includes a recoiler operably coupled to the sensor. The recoiler includes a rotatable member defining a helical recess. The system further includes a cable configured to connect to the sensor and to be unwound from and wound on the rotatable member as the cable is extended and retracted. The cable is configured to be extended from the recoiler in response to the sensor being lifted off of the base, and the cable is configured to be retracted into the recoiler in response to the sensor being moved to a seated position on the base. The helical recess is configured to at least partially receive the cable therein as the cable is wound on the rotatable member.

Recoiler for a merchandise security system

A merchandise security device is provided. The merchandise security device may include a housing operably coupled with a cable. The cable is configured to be extended and retracted relative to the housing and to at least partially surround an item of merchandise. The merchandise security device may also include at least one sensor operably engaged with the housing and configured to detect unauthorized movement of the housing relative to the item of merchandise. The merchandise security device may further include a lock mechanism configured to lock the cable about the item of merchandise.

Package wrap

A merchandise security device for securing items of merchandise from theft is provided. The merchandise security device may include a printed circuit board and a base containing the printed circuit board. The security device may include a sensor electrically connected to the printed circuit board and configured to engage a support surface for detecting unauthorized removal of the base from the support surface. The security device may also include a tether configured to be coupled to one or more items of merchandise, and a spool rotatably disposed within the base for winding and unwinding the tether, wherein the tether is configured to be extended and retracted relative to the base. The printed circuit board is coupled to the spool such that the printed circuit board is configured to rotate relative to the base when the tether is extended and retracted, and the sensor is configured to remain stationary when the tether is extended and retracted.

Recoiler sensor

An adapter plate for securing an item of merchandise to a merchandise security device is provided. For example, the adapter plate includes a body configured to be secured to an item of merchandise, wherein at least one slot is defined in the body. The at least one slot is configured to receive a first fastener for securing the body to the item of merchandise, and the body is laterally adjustable relative to the item of merchandise via engagement of the first fastener with the at least one slot. The body is configured to engage a second fastener for securing the body to the merchandise security device.

Centering adapter plate for camera sensor

A merchandise display security device for displaying and protecting articles of merchandise includes a security sensor having adjustable retaining arms for securely retaining articles of merchandise having various dimensions. Each of the opposed retaining arms includes a grip portion at a first end and a rack portion at a second end opposite the grip portion that operatively engages a rotatable pinion gear. The rack portions are disposed about the pinion gear such that the retaining arms are moveable in a lateral direction in opposite directions to accommodate articles of merchandise having various widths. The retaining arms are rotatably disposed within a base portion and a cap portion removably attached to the base portion such that the retaining arms are rotatable about a lateral axis to accommodate articles of merchandise having various thicknesses.
