An illumination system includes a master power supply providing power to several illumination modules. The master power supply is constructed and arranged to generate high-frequency and low-voltage electrical power provided to a primary wire forming a current loop. Each illumination module includes an electromagnetic coupling element and several light sources.

An illumination system includes a master power supply providing power to several illumination modules. The master power supply is constructed and arranged to generate high-frequency and low-voltage electrical power provided to a primary wire forming a current loop. Each illumination module includes an electromagnetic coupling element and several light sources. The electromagnetic coupling element includes a magnetic core arranged to receive the current loop in a removable arrangement, and a secondary wire wound around the magnetic core to enable inductive coupling. The secondary wire is connected to provide current to the light sources that may be arranged in the illumination module as a DC load or an AC load.

An illumination system includes a power supply having a boost converter operating in the discontinuous conduction mode, a flyback converter operating in the critical conduction mode, and a switch coupled to the flyback converter. Several light emitting diodes receive power from the power supply. The boost converter may include a boost inductor (L) and a boost diode (D), constructed to perform the boost power factor correction (PFC) function. The flyback converter may includes a flyback inductor (L) and a flyback diode (D) and the power supply may be constructed to turn on the switch around the point where the current flowing in the flyback inductor reaches zero value.

LED illumination systems

A power supply for a device which has a load, comprising a first resonant generator and a second resonant generator, coupled in parallel, each generator having a phase output. The power supply further comprises a control circuit coupled to the first and second generators controlling the first and second phase outputs, wherein the first phase output and the second phase output are summed to provide a variable power supply to the load.

High-voltage X-ray generator

A power delivery system for computed tomography includes at least one transformer (e.g., an isolation transformer, a coupling transformer, an adaptation transformer), a rotary transformer, and at least two power inverters. The rotary transformer includes a stationary winding disposed on a stationary side and a rotational winding disposed on a rotating side. The isolation or adaptation transformer is coupled to the stationary winding or the rotating winding of the rotary transformer. At least two power inverters are constructed and arranged to provide power to the primary winding of the rotary transformer. The high-voltage unit is disposed on the rotating side and connected to receive power from the rotational winding and constructed to provide power to an X-ray source.

High-voltage x-ray generator

A method and a system for providing electrical power to several gas discharge tubes, include a master power supply and several high-voltage modules. The master power supply is constructed and arranged to provide high-frequency and low-voltage power to the high-voltage modules. Each high-voltage module, in turn, provides high-frequency and high-voltage power to a gas discharge tube. The high-voltage modules include step-up transformers with their primary side connected in series to the output of the master power supply and their secondary sides connected to the gas discharge tubes.

A method and a system for providing electrical power to several gas discharge tubes are disclosed. The system includes a master power module and several high-voltage modules. The master power module is constructed and arranged to provide high-frequency and low-voltage power to the high-voltage modules. Each high-voltage module, in turn, provides high-frequency and high-voltage power to a gas discharge tube. The high-voltage modules include step-up transformers with their primary side connected in series to the output of the master power module and their secondary sides connected to the gas discharge tubes.

System for providing electrical power to several gas discharge tubes

A high-frequency power supply system for a plurality of fluorescent tubes includes an inverter type power supply connected to the primary side of the high-voltage transformer. The secondary side of the high-voltage transformer includes two high-voltage coils arranged to provide power to four hot cathode fluorescent tubes, wherein each of said high-voltage coils is connected to two of said hot cathode fluorescent tubes connected in parallel. The secondary side of the high-voltage transformer also includes supplemental coils arranged to heat filaments of the hot cathode fluorescent tubes. The power supply also includes at least one capacitor and at least one inductor connected to the secondary side and arranged in a manner that the secondary side provides power to a substantially resistive load.

High frequency electronic drive circuits for fluorescent lamps

An electrical power system for a cold cathode tube includes a high-voltage transformer with a primary side connected to a power supply and a secondary side connected to a cold cathode tube and includes a ground fault detector. The ground fault detector includes a resistive path, a detection circuit, an isolation circuit, and a stop latch. The resistive path is connected to the secondary side of the high-voltage transformer and is arranged to provide a ground fault path to ground fault current. The detection circuit is connected to the resistive path and is constructed and arranged to provide an output representing a fault detection signal. The isolation circuit is connected to the detection circuit and is constructed and arranged to isolate the fault detection signal from the primary side of the high voltage transformer. The stop latch has an input connected to the isolation circuit and an output connected to the power supply and is constructed and arranged to generate an inhibition signal for inhibiting operation of the power supply.
