The present invention relates to methods of breeding with spotted watermelon,, lines and varieties. More specifically, methods of making homozygous-spotted diploid watermelon lines (HSDL) for use in breeding and methods of making homozygous-spotted tetraploid watermelon lines (HSDL) for use in breeding are described. Further, methods of producing 33%, 66%, or 100% spotted triploid hybrid watermelon plants, as well as methods of producing 50% or 100% spotted diploid hybrid watermelon plants, are described. This invention further relates to markers able to determine the percentage of spotted allele present in spotted watermelon lines and varieties. In addition, this invention relates to new and distinctive lines and varieties of watermelon with a spotted phenotype.

The present invention relates to methods of producing unique varieties of triploid watermelon with diverse rind patterning. More specifically, a new watermelon variety designated 'Harvest Moon' is described. 'Harvest Moon' is a seedless, spotted watermelon variety with improved flesh quality and deeper red color than traditional spotted watermelon varieties.

The present invention is a novel method which results in the production of small seedless watermelon fruit having an average fruit weight of less than 12.0 pounds. The novel method involves using small tetraploid parental lines to produce small triploid hybrid seed.

Heat tolerant broccoli plants and seed produced therefrom are described. The heat tolerant broccoli plants are capable of producing a commercially acceptable broccoli head under heat stress growth conditions. The heat tolerant broccoli plants are exemplified by seeds deposited with the American Type Culture Collection and having ATCC Accession numbers: 203530, 203531, 203532, and 203533.

The invention provides seed and plants of the watermelon line designated 110-1005. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of watermelon line 110-1005, and to methods for producing a watermelon plant produced by crossing a plant of watermelon line 110-1005 with itself or with another watermelon plant, such as a plant of another line. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of a plant of watermelon line 110-1005, including the fruit and gametes of such plants.
