A modular system for reducing the total suspended solids of waste, including scum, sludge and water layers, includes a plurality of chambers each being connected in succession by a corresponding one of a plurality of flow pipe segments including an inlet segment, an outlet segment and at least one middle segment, wherein the waste enters the septic tank via the inlet segment and is transferred between each of the plurality of chambers via the at least one middle segment; a corrugated flow pipe in fluid flow communication with the outlet segment; and the corrugated flow pipe being sized and configured for use as a settling zone for removal of a portion of the total suspended solids and wherein an amount of water from the water layer within the chamber adjacent the outlet segment enters the corrugated flow pipe and passes through the outlet segment.

An orthopedic seat cushion for placement on a seat for supporting the weight of an occupant includes an envelope comprising an upper sheet and a lower sheet sealed together to define an interior volume. The interior volume is subdivided into a plurality of depressible cells wherein adjacent cells are in fluid communication with one another. The envelope has an opening penetrated through the upper sheet and lower sheet, wherein the opening has a front end and a back end and is configured to allow clearance for a sensitive area of the occupant. At least one cell has a height dimension that inhibits the sensitive area from contacting the seat when the at least one cell is depressed by the weight of the occupant.

Orthopedic cushion for a seat

An orthopedic pet bed including an upper sheet and a lower sheet coupled together so as to define an interior volume subdivided into a plurality of cells, of which adjacent cells are in fluid communication with one another. The cells may be substantially shaped as hexagons, triangles, parallelograms, or any combination thereof.

Weight sensing padis used in conjunction with the vehicle's airbag control module in order to allow deployment of the airbag, in the event of a collision, only if the seat is occupied by a person of a preselected weight. Weight sensing padis defined by a bladder memberhaving an interior volume subdivided into a plurality of individual cellsin fluid communication with each other and that is filled with a non-compressible fluid, such as silicon or a silica gel of medium viscosity. A pressure tubeis in fluid communication with bladderand is in further fluid communication with a pressure activated electronic transducerwhich in turn is in electronic communication with the airbag controller.

Sensor pad for controlling airbag deployment and associated support

A sensor pad for controlling the deployment of an automobile airbag. Weight sensing pad 10 is used in the seat 54 of an automobile, (not illustrated), to detect the presence of an occupant on the seat. Weight sensing pad 10 is used in conjunction with the vehicle's airbag control module in order to allow deployment of the airbag, in the event of a collision, only if the seat is occupied by a person of a preselected weight. Weight sensing pad 10 is defined by a bladder member 15 having an interior volume subdivided into a plurality of individual cells 42 in fluid communication with each other and that is filled with a non-compressible fluid 18, such as silicon or a silica gel of medium viscosity. A pressure tube 22 is in fluid communication with bladder 15 and is in further fluid communication with a pressure activated electronic transducer 26 which in turn is in electronic communication with the airbag controller 30. When a person sits upon weight sensing pad 10, there is a volumetric displacement of fluid 18 that provides a pressure change in the bladder member. If there is a sufficient pressure change due to the volumetric displacement of fluid to activate transducer 26, transducer 26 sends a signal to air bag controller 30. Electronic transducer 26 is selected to generate a signal upon detection of pressure resultant from the volumetric displacement of fluid 18 from bladder 15 expected from the average size adult of approximately one hundred pounds or heavier.

An atrial fibrillation monitor provides hand-contacting electrodes to allow daily ECG measurements of a patient without cumbersome electrode connection to the patient. ECG data may be diagnosed by the monitor to indicate likelihood of atrial fibrillation and an indication provided to the patient ECG data based on that indication may be forwarded to a physician or other healthcare professional for a review.

Further, a method for producing a flat joint seam in a roll-over airbag in which the lap joint is sealed flat and steps are taken to prevent the upper and lower portions of the lap joint from adhering to one another.

A non-corrosive, non-metallic hatch apparatus is provided for use on a container having a container opening with a container flange surrounding the container opening. A hatch base includes a base flange complementary to and constructed to be bolted to the container flange. The hatch base has a hatch opening defined therethrough and includes a base thread surrounding the hatch opening. A non-metallic hatch lid includes a lid thread defined thereon which is complementary to the base thread so that the hatch lid can be attached to the hatch base to close the hatch opening by threaded engagement of the lid thread with the base thread.

An operator's work platform, including a control station, is mounted on the vehicle frame adjacent the storage tanks on a side thereof opposite the power package. A hydraulically powered blender assembly is also included, and a hydraulically powered lifting apparatus is mounted on the vehicle frame for moving the blender assembly between a lowered position and a raised position. The raised position of the blender assembly is located above the vehicle frame and adjacent the work platform on a side thereof opposite the storage tanks.
