A windshield wiper assembly for cleaning a windshield and a method for assembling the windshield wipe assembly is disclosed. The windshield wiper assembly includes at least a plurality of wiper blades, a windshield wiper arm, and a locking clip. The plurality of wiper blades contact the windshield and move reciprocatingly across the windshield. The windshield wiper arm is provided for supporting the plurality of wiper blades. The locking clip is attached at a first clip end to the windshield wiper arm and at a second clip end to one of the plurality of wiper blades for positioning the plurality of wiper blades proximate to each other.

An apparatus for sensing a level of fluid within a container. The apparatus includes a support coupled to the container. The apparatus additionally includes first and second floats. Each of the first and second floats is pivotally coupled to the support proximate a first end. The apparatus further includes a position sensing mechanism for sensing the relative positions of the first and second floats and responsively determining the level of fluid within the container.

An apparatus for sensing a level of fluid within a container. The apparatus includes a first cantilevered arm having a first float coupled to the container. The apparatus additionally includes a second cantilevered arm having a second float coupled to the first cantilevered arm. The apparatus further includes a position sensing mechanism for sensing the relative positions of the first and second cantilevered arms and responsively determining the level of fluid within the container.

Method and apparatus for sensing the level of fluid with a container

A gauge assembly is provided including a terminal carrier including a base portion, a head portion extending from a first side of the base portion, and a plurality of legs extending from a second side of the base portion. The head portion includes a twist lock locking element disposed on a side thereof. A bobbin and coil assembly is supported by the terminal carrier. The bobbin and coil assembly rotatably supports a spindle and magnet. A plurality of electrical terminals extend through the base portion of the terminal carrier and terminate at one end into a bent contact portion adjacent to the head portion which engage electrical contact pads disposed on the printed circuit board. The electrical terminals have a second end electrically connected to a coil of the bobbin and coil assembly. A plurality of mounting bosses are mounted to the display panel and are provided with sloped surfaces for guiding the gauge assembly to a centered position when the display panel and printed circuit board are mounted together. One of the mounting bosses is attached to the printed circuit board.

A gauge assembly is provided including a terminal carrier including a base portion, a head portion extending from a first side of the base portion, and a plurality of legs extending from a second side of the base portion. The head portion includes a twist lock locking element disposed on a side thereof. A bobbin and coil assembly is supported by the terminal carrier. The bobbin and coil assembly further provides a coil wire component which can be coupled to the gauge assembly by snapping the coil wire component into place. The terminal ends of the coil wire component are connected to terminal pads. Therefore the coil wire components are connected to terminal pads. Therefore the coil wire component can be easily integrated by receiving the terminal pads and quickly establishing electrical contact. The bobbin and coil assembly rotatably supports a spindle and magnet. A plurality of electrical terminals extend through the base portion of the terminal carrier and terminate at one end into a bent contact portion adjacent to the head portion which engage electrical contact pads disposed on the printed circuit board. The electrical terminals have a second end electrically connected to a coil of the bobbin and coil assembly. A plurality of mounting bosses are mounted to the display panel and are provided with sloped surfaces for guiding the gauge assembly to a centered position when the display panel and printed circuit board are mounted together. One of the mounting bosses is attached to the printed circuit board.

An apparatus for diagnosing the presence and location of faults within a vehicle's electrical system includes a signal generator for generating an a.c. test signal; a switching circuit connected to an interface between the system's ECU and the system's components for selectively and sequentially applying the a.c. test signal into each electrical lead therein; and a first detector connected to the system's common ground for detecting the system's response to the applied signals, thereby obtaining a set of transitory characteristics for the vehicle's electrical system. The apparatus further includes an EPROM within which a set of reference characteristics for the vehicle's electrical system is stored; a comparator means for comparing the detected transitory characteristics with the stored set of reference characteristics; and a diagnostic processor responsive to the comparator means for diagnosing the presence of a fault when the detected transitory characteristics of the vehicle's electrical system deviate significantly from the stored set of reference characteristics therefor. Upon diagnosing the presence of a fault within the vehicle's electrical system, a d.c. test signal is injected under the control of the diagnostic processor using the switching circuit only into the lead or leads of the interface deemed responsible for the deviant system output. A second detector likewise connected by the switching means only to those leads deemed responsible for the deviant system output detects the reflection of the d.c. test signal for use by the diagnostic processor in determining the location of any existing fault relative to the interface.
