A flange includes a flange body and a scallop feature. The flange body is annularly disposed about a longitudinal axis. The flange body includes a first radial side and a second radial side radially opposite the first radial side. The flange body defines a first fastener hole and a circumferentially adjacent second fastener hole. Each of the first fastener hole and the second fastener hole are formed through the flange body. The scallop feature is formed through the flange body and disposed circumferentially between the first and second fastener holes. The scallop feature extends radially from the first radial side through at least a portion of the flange body. The scallop feature includes a first side and a second side, parallel to the first side.

Integrally bladed rotors (IBRs) are described. The IBRs include a central hub, an outer rim defining an outer circumference of the central hub, the outer rim defining a plurality of platforms, a plurality of circumferentially distributed blades, wherein a blade extends from each of the plurality of platforms, a rotor slot arranged between two adjacent blades, wherein the rotor slot is defined by a cut within the outer rim, and a rotor slot insert installed within the rotor slot, the rotor slot insert sized and shaped to fit within the rotor slot and prevent air leakage from a first side of the central hub to a second side of the central hub through the rotor slot during operation of the integrally bladed rotor.

A motorcycle with an improved steering mechanism is provided. The motorcycle is provided with a swing arm which is moveably attached to a tracking mechanism. The tracking mechanism is an arcuate track which is attached directly to the frame or engine of the motorcycle. When the front wheel is steered about its steering axis, the swing arm moves along the arc of the arcuate tracking mechanism.
