A well system includes a rig floor, a first rig floor robot positioned on the rig floor, wherein the first rig floor robot is configured to guide a lower end of a pipe stand towards a setback position on the rig floor, a mast extending from the rig floor, the mast including a plurality of legs, a pipe transport assembly slidably coupled to one of the legs of the mast, wherein the pipe transport assembly includes an elevator configured to transport the pipe stand, and a winch coupled to the mast and configured to raise and lower the pipe transport assembly along the mast.

Tubular string building system and method

A well system includes a well platform including a rig floor, a first rig floor robot and a second rig floor robot positioned on the rig floor, wherein the first rig floor robot is configured to guide a lower end of a pipe stand towards a setback position on the rig floor and the second rig floor robot is configured to guide a first pipe joint of the pipe stand into a first mouse hole formed in the rig floor, a mast extending from the rig floor, a racking board coupled to the mast, the racking board configured to secure an upper end of the pipe stand between a pair of finger boards of the racking board, a racking board robot positioned on the racking board and configured to position the upper end of the pipe stand between the pair of finger boards.

A drilling rig having a lift arm, which may be an auxiliary lift arm provided in addition to a primary lifting cable system of the drilling rig. The lift arm may be configured to hoist and/or manipulate drill collar, drill pipe, or other drilling pipe or conduit. The lift arm may be coupled to a mast of the drilling rig and may have a cantilevered boom extending therefrom. The boom may be configured to pivot between alignment, or near alignment, with well center and a racking board. The lift arm may additionally have a pipe engaging element coupled to the boom. The pipe engaging element may be configured to couple to stands or lengths of drilling pipe. The pipe engaging element may be raised and lowered together with or relative to the boom via a lift line controllable via a hydraulic cylinder, winch, or other suitable mechanism for withdrawing and releasing the line.

Pipe handling arm

A tower crane for assembling a wind turbine includes a boom assembly including a boom and a hoisting block coupled to the boom, an extendable tower assembly including a plurality of tower sections, and a transport assembly including a central support frame coupled to the tower assembly, a self-propelled transporter configured to transport the tower crane, and a diagonal brace extending between the central support frame and the transporter, wherein the diagonal brace includes a linear actuator configured to selectably extend and retract the diagonal brace.

Mobile tower crane systems and methods

A lubricator assembly for servicing a tubular member includes a mounting base, a lubricant housing movably coupled to the mounting base and configured to receive lubricant from a lubricant source, a guide pin slidably disposed in the lubricant housing, a first seal positioned between the guide pin and the lubricant housing and a second seal positioned between the guide pin and the lubricant housing, and a first chamber extending between the first seal and the second seal, wherein the guide pin is configured to direct lubricant disposed in the first chamber against the tubular member in response to the tubular member engaging the guide pin.

Lubricator assembly and method for servicing tubular members

Tower erection systems and methods utilizing a load-sharing support member (LS support member) are disclosed. The LS support member can have a first end coupled to a crane tower and a second end configured to repeatably couple to the upper-most tower section of a partially assembled tower stack during assembly. During lifting, a portion of the vertical load is transferred to the partially assembled tower stack.

Tower erection system

The pipe racker assembly includes a mast, a dolly assembly vertically slidably secured to the mast for vertical movement, a handling arms assembly rotatably secured to the dolly assembly and having an upper handling arm extensible to accommodate pipes of varying length and as long as 45 feet and lower arms capable of gripping pipe either from a horizontal pipe rack or from a carousel pipe rack turntable when the handling arms are rotated 90.degree. on the dolly assembly. A stabilizer is secured to the ends of the handling arms in order to allow the handling arms assembly to be supported remote from the pipe racker assembly to reduce the structural strength requirements of the assembly.

Pipe racker assembly

An improved apparatus and method for engaging beams is disclosed. A frame is positioned so that each end of the frame is adjacent to opposing surfaces of the beam. A shoe is located between one surface of the beam and the upper end of the frame, and a series of inclined plates are located between the shoe and the upper end of the frame. A hydraulic cylinder is operated to move the inclined plates, until the plates are perpendicular to the shoe, to cause the shoe and the lower end of the frame to engage the beam. Another hydraulic cylinder located between the frame and an object such as a drilling rig can be operated to move the object relative to the beam.

Apparatus for engaging beams

A telescopic drilling derrick apparatus that is light for easy transportation and utilizes structure to enable the mast to be raised from a collapsed horizontal position to a vertical position while still in an unextended position and thereafter telescopically raising the mast to full vertical height.
