A method for treating the surface of a vehicle by means of at least one rotating treatment brush. The treatment brush comprises treatment elements, the surfaces of which are brought into frictional contact with the vehicle surface during the treatment. According to the method, a reference measurement is carried out, in which the treatment brush is set in rotation and is moved into a defined position relative to a reference element, such that the surfaces of the handling elements are brought into frictional contact with the surface of the reference element, and in this case the value of the frictional force is measured directly or indirectly. During the treatment of the vehicle surface, the treatment brush is controlled as a function of the value of the frictional force measured during the reference measurement. A system for treating the surface of a vehicle by means of which this method can be carried out.

Method and system for treating the surface of a vehicle

A vehicle washing installation includes at least one side washing brush which is mounted on a crossbar of the vehicle washing installation by a suspension to be rotatable about first and second pivot axes. The suspension has a first actuator for pivoting the side washing brush about the first pivot axis. The problem of providing a vehicle washing installation which, with little constructional outlay, permits a good washing result even in the case of inclined side surfaces and rear surfaces of the vehicle and the inclined transitions between said surfaces is addressed in that the suspension has a second actuator for pivoting the side washing brush about the second pivot axis, and by a method with the steps of: detecting and/or determining the inclination of a first vehicle surface running transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction; pivoting the side washing brush from a basic position about the second pivot axis in a manner corresponding to the inclination of the first vehicle surface; and moving the side washing brush along the first vehicle surface.

Vehicle washing installation and method for the operation thereof

A method for cleaning vehicles by means of which the formation of marks caused by drying is prevented. The method comprises a rinsing step using water. In the method, the anions forming poorly soluble salts with alkaline earth metals dissolved in water are removed from the water, while cations causing the water hardness are retained. Furthermore, a vehicle washing system includes: at least one application device for applying rinsing fluid to a vehicle to be cleaned; and an ion-exchange device for removing anions from the rinsing fluid prior to the application to the vehicle.

Conventional cartridges of this kind are not sufficiently secure against confusion and resistant to outside influences. The cartridge () cannot be confused, is reliable, space saving and resistant to outside influences, especially when in motor vehicle handling facilities.

The invention provides a drive-in aid for a conveying device provided for transporting a vehicle to be treated in a transport direction through a vehicle treatment system, having a lane running in the transport direction for tires of the vehicle, a base plate movable transversely to the transport direction and two guide elements converging at least partially above the movable base plate in the transport direction, and a corresponding vehicle treatment system. The drive-in aid and vehicle treatment system allow the tires of the vehicle to be treated to be positioned without damage and centrally with respect to the desired lane of the conveying device. The drive-in aid is characterized in that the guide elements are movable to and fro between an approach position, in which they converge in the transport direction and extend into the lane and a drive-through position, in which they define the lane laterally.

Drive in aid and vehicle treatment system

The invention relates to a vehicle treatment installation with a drive-in area for a vehicle to be treated, a treatment gantry that can move along a drive-in direction, and at least one camera for creating an image of the drive-in area and vehicle. Such known vehicle treatment installations often fail and/or are maintenance-intensive. The task of providing an installation and also a method for its operation that simplifies, with simple means, the drive-in process into the correct treatment position for the driver of a vehicle to be treated is achieved by a display device that is visible to the driver of the vehicle during the drive-in process, and at least one mark. The invention relates to a method for controlling a vehicle washing installation with the use of a light-section procedure, wherein at least one treatment device () and a vehicle () to be washed are moved relative to each other in the washing direction (L), the vehicle surfaces are illuminated by two light fans () starting from different positions, a first (FIG.) and a second (FIG.) two-dimensional depiction of the vehicle surfaces illuminated by the light fans () are recorded from shooting angles which are oblique with respect to the planes of the light fans, and are stored in a control unit () together with the relative position and/or relative movement of treatment devices () and vehicle (), the preceding steps are repeated during a traversing operation from one end to the other end of the vehicle (), and, during or after the end of the traversing operation, a three-dimensional representation of the vehicle surfaces is calculated from the two-dimensional depictions (FIG., FIG.) stored in the control unit (), and from the shooting angles, the relative position and/or relative movement and position data of the light fans (), and said three-dimensional representation is used in order to control the vehicle washing installation, in particular the treatment devices () arranged thereon.

Method and apparatus for controlling a vehicle washing installation

A device for detecting the position of a wheeled vehicle while driving into a vehicle treatment facility, wherein near the floor at least one electrical switching device is arranged, which is activated when it is driven over by at least one wheel of the vehicle. An evaluation unit determines from the activation of the switching unit the instantaneous position of the wheel and thus of the vehicle. The switching device is configured as a contact grid in the form of a two-dimensional matrix, especially a contact mat, with a plurality of electrical switches, wherein an electrical switch is allocated to each point of the matrix, and wherein the evaluation unit is configured so that the activation of the switches can be detected individually by the evaluation unit.
