A component formed by an additive manufacturing process includes a body and a first vibration damper. The body is formed from an additive manufacturing material, and defines at least a first cavity completely enclosed within the body. The first vibration damper is disposed within the first cavity. The first vibration damper includes a flowable medium and a first solidified element formed from the additive manufacturing material. The flowable medium surrounds the first solidified element.

The controller is configured to acquire vibration information from a vibration sensor, acquire a tachometer signal, convert the tachometer signal and the vibration information into a cycle domain signal, and perform an order analysis on the cycle domain signal, the order analysis providing information that identifies potential and actual damage within the wind turbine gearbox.

The receiver is linked to a processor for transmission of the data to the processor for storage and processing if necessary. The sensor generates a signal, which is transmitted to the processor. The processor is capable of analyzing the signal generating data indicative of operating condition of the vehicle component. In one embodiment, the invention is a pressure sensor calibration system comprising a pressure chamber in fluid communication with a pressure sensor to be calibrated, the chamber is pressurized to a static pressure level. An oscillating surface on a wall of the chamber imparts a rapid pressure fluctuation in the static pressure level of the chamber. System and method for conditioned-based monitoring of a bearing assembly

A self-shielded gradient coil assembly for an MR imaging system has inner and outer gradient coil windings disposed in coaxial relationship and defining a hollow annular space therebetween. Inner and outer helical cooling tubes are affixed to the outer and inner surfaces of the inner and outer gradient coil windings, respectively, by a thermally conductive epoxy, and a concrete filler material substantially fills the remaining hollow annular space. The concrete filler material may be poured into the hollow annular space to fill the space, or a pre-formed hollow concrete cylinder may be inserted coaxially into the space, defining remaining inner and outer annular volumes which are then filled with a thermally conductive epoxy bonding together the inner and outer gradient coil windings, the cooling tubes and the hollow concrete cylinder.

The imaging apparatus comprises a magnet assembly, a gradient coil assembly, and a rf coil assembly, wherein at least one of the magnet assembly, the gradient coil assembly and the rf coil assembly are configured to reduce the generation and transmission of acoustic noise.

A locomotive diagnostic system. A first sensor outputs a measurement of a first state variable (such as vibration) of a first locomotive component, such as a blower fan bearing set, and a second sensor outputs a measurement of a second state variable (such as rotational speed) of a second locomotive component, such as a blower fan shaft. The first state variable is indicative of the operation of the first component and is dependent on the second state variable. Data represents, for each of a number of different values of the second state variable, first, second, and third ranges of values of the first state variable which indicate, respectively, normal, worn, and failed operation of the first component. A mechanism, such as a digital computer, determines if the measurement of the first state variable is within the first, second, or third range of values of the first state variable for the measurement of the second state variable.

Locomotive diagnostic system

An MR magnet assembly includes a cylindrical vessel for housing a superconducting magnet and having a vacuum between its inner and outer walls. The vessel defines a magnet bore for receiving a patient to be imaged. A gradient coil assembly is mounted in the bore adjacent the inner wall of the magnet assembly. To reduce gradient coil noise, the inner wall is constructed of a non-conductive material which does not support eddy currents.

A noise reducing clip device includes a clip body and a fulcrum-defining element. The clip body receives a washing machine wash tub wall and a fastener to secure the tub wall to the clip body and attach the clip body and tub wall therewith to a support leg disposed adjacent to the tub wall. The fulcrum-defining element is formed on and protrudes outwardly from the clip body for spacing the clip body from the support leg and providing only contact of the support leg with the fulcrum-defining element about which contact the support leg may undergo twisting and rocking motion induced by operation of a washing machine motor without imparting such motion to the tub wall via the clip body.

A reinforced motor for reducing amplitude of operational vibrations includes a stator having an open end, a rotor disposed through and centrally of the stator and having at least one end, an end shield mounted to the open end of the stator and having an outer surface and rotatably supporting the rotor at the one end thereof, and an elongated stiffening member attached to or formed on the outer surface of the end shield so as to increase stiffness and reduce bending of the end shield and thereby reduce amplitude of operational vibrations produced by rotation of the rotor relative to the stator. A peripheral portion of the end shield forms an opening for receiving a switch housing. The stiffening member is attached on the outer surface of the end shield adjacent to the switch housing opening.

A magnetic-resonance-imaging (MRI) scanner subassembly. In one subassembly, a preferably annularly-cylindrical-shaped enclosure contains a first vacuum, and an MRI gradient coil assembly is located within the enclosure in the first vacuum. Preferably, an annularly-cylindrical housing is included which is coaxially aligned with the enclosure and contains a second vacuum which is higher than the first vacuum, and an MRI superconductive main coil is located within the housing in the second vacuum. In another subassembly, an MRI gradient coil assembly has a threshold excitation frequency, and an isolation mount assemblage supports the MRI gradient coil assembly.

An electrical transformer includes a housing, a transformer core and winding subassembly located in the housing, and a cooling fan subassembly. The cooling fan subassembly includes a variable speed fan located outside the housing, a temperature sensor located near the housing, and a controller having an output port connected to the variable speed fan and an input port connected to the temperature sensor. The controller reduces the fan speed (and hence the fan noise) when a lower fan speed can maintain the desired temperature as sensed by the temperature sensor. Preferably, the electrical transformer further includes an active mount subassembly and/or (when the housing includes a tank containing transformer fluid) a mechanism for varying the dynamic pressure of such transformer fluid.
