A radio frequency (RF) receiving apparatus () includes a first and second omnidirectional RF antennas () at different spatial locations or orientations, a first and second RF receivers (), each connected to a corresponding one of the first and second omnidirectional RF antennas (), and a controller () connected to the first and second RF receivers (). The first and second RF receivers () receive and demodulate RF signals of at least first and second carrier frequencies to recover data packets from at least a first device which transmits data packets on the first carrier frequency RF signal and a second device which transmits data packets on the second carrier frequency RF signal. The controller () is configured to control the RF receivers to cycle between receiving and demodulating the first carrier frequency RF signals concurrently to recover redundant data packets from the first device, and receiving and demodulating the second carrier frequency RF signals concurrently to recover redundant data packets from the second device. The apparatus can be used to wirelessly transmit physiological patient monitoring data (e.g. an ECG signal) in the highly reflective environment of an MRI system.

An apparatus comprises an electrical device or component () and a radio frequency shield arranged to shield the electrical device or component. The apparatus is disposed in a radio frequency (Bi) field generated by a magnetic resonance scanner and in time varying magnetic field gradients generated by the magnetic resonance scanner (). The radio frequency shield includes an electrically conductive sheet or layer having openings suppressing time varying magnetic field gradient induced vibration of the radio frequency shield.

The magnetic transducer () connects to the amplifier () and converts the modulated carrier signal into a modulated magnetic signal. The non-ferrous magnetic shield () shields the magnetic transducer () and blocks emitted electro-magnetic radiation.

An RF shielded room () which houses a magnetic resonance scanner () also houses a patient monitor () which includes a plurality of sensors () which collect physiological data about a patient undergoing a magnetic resonance examination. The monitor includes a transmitter () which transmits the physiological data on at least two frequency channels of a broadband frequency spectrum. A communication unit () located outside the RF shielded room includes first and second receivers () which receive the physiological data from the monitor on the first and second frequency channels, respectively. A processor () combines physiological data received by the first and second receivers to. A display () displays the combined physiological data. A switch () switches antenna connections of the receivers () responsive to detection of multipath fade.

The connector prevents movement of the connections due to mechanical stresses in all ranges of motion relative to four degrees of freedom, including translation, pitching, yawing, and rolling.

A stay assembly comprising a tether, a tether retracting mechanism carried by an animal collar and a slotted clip body carried by the belt of a person. One end of the tether is secured to a spool biased by a spring of the retracting mechanism and the other end of the tether has an enlarged member which is quickly attachable to and releasable from the slot of the belt clip body in which it is securely held by the tension applied to the tether by the spring biased spool. The animal collar may be attached to a wall of the retracting mechanism or pass through a channel within the housing of this mechanism.
