A vent shut-off assembly configured to manage venting on a fuel tank configured to deliver fuel to an internal combustion engine includes a first liquid vapor discriminator (LVD), a main housing, a poppet valve assembly, a pump and an actuator assembly. The first LVD is disposed in the fuel tank. The main housing selectively vents to a carbon canister. The poppet valve assembly has a poppet valve arranged in the main housing. The pump selectively pumps liquid fuel from the main housing. The actuator assembly is at least partially housed in the main housing and includes a cam assembly having a cam shaft that includes a first cam and a second cam. The first cam has a profile that one of opens and closes a poppet valve fluidly coupled to the first LVD. The second cam has a profile that actuates the pump.

Evaporative emissions fuel tank venting system with drain pump

A vapor impermeable solenoid for a fuel tank isolation valve assembly an outer housing defining an inner cavity, windings configured to generate a magnetic flux when energized, and a flux collector configured to direct the magnetic flux. An armature tube is disposed within the inner cavity inboard of the flux collector and formed of a magnetic and vapor impermeable material configured to prevent fuel vapor molecules from passing therethrough. A pole piece is disposed within the armature tube, and a magnetic armature is disposed within the armature tube and operably coupled to a seal configured to selectively seal a passage that allows fuel vapor to pass to a purge canister. The magnetic armature is configured to move from a first position to a second position when an electric current is applied to the windings.

Vapor impermeable solenoid for fuel vapor environment

An evaporative emissions control system configured for use with a vehicle fuel tank includes a purge canister, an accelerometer, first and second vent tubes that terminate at first and second vent openings, a first vent valve, a second vent valve, a vent shut-off assembly and a control module. The accelerometer senses acceleration in an x, y and z axis. The first vent valve is fluidly coupled to the first vent tube. The second vent valve is fluidly coupled to the second vent tube. The vent shutoff assembly selectively opens and closes the first and second valves. The control module estimates a location of liquid fuel based on the sensed acceleration from the accelerometer and determines which vent opening is one of submerged and about to be submerged based on the estimated location of the liquid fuel. The control module closes the vent valve associated with the determined vent opening.

Electronic evaporative emissions management system

A vapor impermeable solenoid includes an outer housing fabricated from a vapor impermeable material configured to prevent fuel vapor molecules from passing therethrough; windings configured to generate a magnetic flux when energized, a flux collector configured to direct the magnetic flux, a pole piece, and a magnetic armature disposed within the housing and coupled to a seal configured to selectively seal a passage that allows fuel vapor to pass to a purge canister. The magnetic armature is configured to move from a first position to a second position when an electric current is applied to the windings.

A fuel filler tube housing assembly constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure includes a fuel filler neck and a filler extension tube. The fuel filler neck housing includes a first mounting structure operable to support a check valve. The fuel filler extension tube is fixed to the fuel filler neck housing and has a second mounting structure substantially similar to the first mounting structure and thereby also operable to support the check valve.

A valve assembly includes a valve body with an interior cavity and one or more supply ports, a control port, and an exhaust port each fluidly connected to the interior cavity. An armature assembly is movable within the interior cavity from a first position to a second position in response to the coil being energized. In some configurations, a regulator body, which is connected to the valve body, has an exhaust passage fluidly connected to the exhaust port. A regulator valve in the regulator body prevents fluid flow out of the exhaust passage when fluid pressure on the regulator valve is at or below a pilot pressure. The regulator valve permits fluid flow out of the exhaust passage when fluid pressure on the regulator valve is greater than the pilot pressure. The valve body is configured to provide fluid from the supply port/ports to the control port.

An oil control valve assembly includes a valve body and a controller coupled to an exterior end of the valve body. The controller includes a solenoid housing attached to the exterior end of the valve body, and defines an interior region. An encapsulated coil assembly is disposed within the interior region of the solenoid housing. A housing seal is disposed within the interior region of the solenoid housing, in sealing engagement with the solenoid housing, the valve body, and the encapsulated coil assembly. The housing seal is operable to seal the interior region of the solenoid housing to prevent fluid communication between the solenoid housing and the valve body. An adapter assembly is coupled to the valve body to reposition a discharge location of a supply port, a control port, and an exhaust port of the valve body along a longitudinal axis of the valve body.

Engine valvetrain oil control valve

A valve assembly includes a valve body with an interior cavity and a primary supply port, a secondary supply port, a control port, and an exhaust port each extending to the interior cavity. An armature assembly is configured to move within the interior cavity from a first position to a second position when the coil is energized. A regulator body is operatively connected to the valve body and has an exhaust passage positioned at the exhaust port. A regulator valve in the regulator body is configured to prevent flow out of the exhaust passage when fluid pressure on the regulator valve is at or below a pilot pressure and permit flow out of the exhaust passage when fluid pressure on the regulator valve is greater than the pilot pressure. The valve body is configured to provide fluid from the secondary supply port to the control port.

An apparatus such as for a solenoid valve assembly includes a substantially annular flux collector () that has a first arced portion () and at least one additional arced portion (). The first arced portion and the at least one additional arced portion are cooperatively configured to interlock with one another to form the substantially annular flux collector. A method () of manufacturing a solenoid valve assembly using the annular flux collector is also provided.

Self-inflating tire air regulator

A solenoid assembly includes a coil assembly having a coil and a bobbin surrounding the coil. A first post extends from the bobbin. Electrical current is supplied to the coil through the first post. An armature at least partially surrounds the coil assembly and is configured so that the first post extends through the armature. The armature is configured to translate relative to the pole piece when the coil is energized. A feature is configured to prevent the armature from contacting the first post when the armature translates.
