The present invention relates to a calibration system () and a calibration method for a converting machine () provided with a die-cutting tool (') and at least one transfer unit () for transporting a sheet () along a travel path in a direction of conveyance (D) through the converting machine. The calibration system comprising a first image sensor (), a memory () and a control unit (). The calibration system is configured to detect an actual position of an indicia () on the sheet () and compare with a reference position of the indicia () stored in the memory (). A correction program stored in the memory is executed when at least one of the longitudinal displacement (Δxi) and the lateral displacement (Δyi) of the indicia exceeds a predetermined tolerance threshold (Txi, Tyi).

Calibration system and calibration method for a converting machine

A quality-control device () includes: an illumination system () for illuminating one peripheral face of each folding box, an image capture device () for forming a multiple image of the respective peripheral faces of a bundle of folding boxes, an image processing system () for: i) detecting within the multiple image each peripheral end of the slots of each box that separate its adjacent flaps, ii) generating a data set indicative of the geometry of each peripheral end, and iii) analyzing the data set to determine the width of each peripheral end.
