Encased magnetic bone growth stimulating devices and methods of use are provided herein. An example device includes a magnet and a biocompatible means for enclosing the magnet. The biocompatible means for enclosing the magnet further comprises a means for releasably coupling with the medical implant and a means for coupling the enclosing means to an implantable medical device.

Encased magnetic bone growth stimulating devices and methods of use

A spinal implant for immobilizing the Cvertebra with respect to the Cvertebra of the spine provides controlled coupling between the Cand Cvertebrae, and includes a Ccomponent attachable to the Cvertebra, two Ccomponents attachable to the Cvertebra, and a transverse element. The Ccomponent has two wings each of which retains a rod holder that rotates and translates for capturing a Ccomponent rod. Each Ccomponent has a hook for connection with a side of the Cvertebra lamina and a rod for attachment to one of the rod holders of the Ccomponent. Each Ccomponent receives and secures the transverse connector which holds position of the Ccomponents relative to one another. Each Ccomponent may include a plate configured for compression against the Cvertebra spinous process, with each plate including spikes to aid in preventing construct migration.

Implant for immobilizing cervical vertebrae

A spinal implant system includes an elongated implant defining a distal portion interconnected to a proximal portion. The distal portion includes a set of threads for joining the distal portion with a distal part of the bone fracture. The system also includes a compression device coupled to the proximal portion of the elongated implant. The compression device is movable from an end of the proximal portion towards the distal portion of the elongated implant, wherein the compression device is structured to apply a compression force to a proximal part of the bone fracture.

System and method for reducing and stabilizing a bone fracture

A spinal implant for immobilizing the C1 vertebra with respect to the C2 vertebra of the spine provides controlled coupling between the C1 and C2 vertebrae, and includes a C1 component attachable to the C1 vertebra, two C2 components attachable to the C2 vertebra, and a transverse element. The C1 component has two wings each of which retains a rod holder that rotates and translate for capturing a C2 component rod. Each C2 component has a hook for connection with a side of the C2 vertebra lamina and a rod for attachment to one of the rod holders of the C1 component. Each C2 component receives and secures the transverse connector which holds position of the C2 components relative to one another. Each C2 component may include a plate configured for compression against the C2 vertebra spinous process, with each plate including spikes to aid in preventing construct migration.

A surgical implant is provided with upper and lower telescoping members which move axially between extended and retracted positions. A fixed length sleeve fits over the telescoping members. The sleeve is load bearing to support axial loads. The sleeve also prevents the telescoping members from retracting and encloses an internal cavity within the implant for packing bone fusion material.

Expandable corpectomy cage

A dual function bone implant provides both stabilization and stimulation for bone healing. The implant includes a fixation or stabilization hardware body, with an electromagnetic field generator mounted in or on the body. The hardware body stabilizes the bone, while the electromagnetic field generator stimulates bone growth and fusion by producing an electromagnetic field at the bone site.

A corpectomy cage is provided with upper and lower telescoping members which move axially between extended and retracted positions. A fixed length sleeve fits over the telescoping members. The sleeve is load bearing to support axial loads on the cage from vertebral bodies. The sleeve also prevents the telescoping members from retracting and encloses an internal cavity within the cage for packing bone fusion material.
