Embodiments are directed to verifying performance and operation of live services. Applications operative in a computing environment and directed to a plurality of organizations may be provided such that the applications include data associated with different organizations. Templates that declare template objects may be provided such that the template objects may be directed to verifying features of the applications. Data associated with the organization may be provided based on the template objects. Verification objects may be generated based on the template objects and the provided data. The verification objects may be employed to verify the features of the applications based on verification conditions and the provided data. Reports that include results based on verification conditions and the provided data may be provided.

Verifying performance and operation of live services

Embodiments are directed to verifying media stream quality for multiparty video conferences. A verification video may be generated based on verification goals for a video provided by a video service. A marker may be embedded in the verification video. A video conference may be established using video stations such that the video conference may be provided by a video service. The verification video may be streamed to a video input of each video station. The video may be streamed to a video output buffer of each video station such that the video provides a view of the video conference and such that the marker that corresponds to each video station may be included in the video. Video information may be captured from the video output buffer of the video stations. The video service may be classified based on the video information from each video station.

Verifying media stream quality for multiparty video conferences

Information about the operating system application programming interfaces is stored in a known format in a known location. This information fully describes the APIs exposed by the operating system and is stored in API metadata files. A language compiler or interpreter uses this API information to build a natural and familiar representation of the native system API in the target language. The language compiler or interpreter can read the API information at compile time and/or runtime. The metadata is used to allow an application to refer to named elements in the API. Projections are built that use the metadata to map named elements in the API to named elements in the target language, and to define wrappers that marshal data of those elements between the target representation and the native operating system representation.

Projecting native application programming interfaces of an operating system into other programming languages

Various embodiments provide an ability to abstract type resolution between multiple type systems. At least one type can be described in one or more programmatically accessible file(s). In some embodiments, an application using a different type system can programmatically access and resolve a type of the at least one type system without knowledge of a location of where a description of the type resides. Alternately or additionally, type descriptions contained in the one or more programmatically accessible file(s) can be analyzed and restructured into one or more new programmatically accessible file(s) based, at least in part, upon the type descriptions.

Flexible metadata composition

Various embodiments are disclosed relating to providing multiple and native representations of an image. According to an example embodiment, multiple realizations of an image may be generated and provided, rather than only a single realization, for example. Also, in another embodiment, the generation and output of multiple realizations may use one or more native objects to natively perform the transforms or image processing to provide the images or realizations.

A method and architecture for reading and updating metadata. A policy component is arranged to receive a request to read or update metadata that may include metadata from a plurality of standards. Each metadata format potentially includes a field corresponding to the request. The policy component determines which fields to read or update in satisfying the request by consulting a repository. The repository includes mappings that map information included in the request (e.g., a path) to locations in the metadata corresponding to the request. The policy component uses the locations to read or update the metadata.

Abstracted metadata policy component and related architecture

An improved system and method for an extensible codec architecture for digital images is provided. Executable software code may be operably coupled to a codec manager for requesting imaging operations to be performed on a digital image. The codec manager may receive the request to perform an imaging operation on the digital image and may select an imaging component, such as a codec, from one or more imaging components registered in the computer system for performing an imaging operation on the digital image. An arbitration manager may include functionality for requesting enumeration of the operations an imaging component may perform on a particular digital image. One or more pixel format converters may then convert the pixel format in the digital image to a pixel format supported by an imaging component installed on the system.

System and method for providing an extensible codec architecture for digital images

Described is the adding of padding to a content file (e.g., image and/or audiovisual file) for anticipated subsequent use such that the content file need not be re-encoded to add metadata and other data to it. For example, padding may be added to an image file directly after an image file directory, whereby the directory can grow as needed into the padded space. Metadata can likewise be added to the padding, e.g., from the opposite direction that the directory extends into the padding. The padding may be added on the first re-encoding of the file, reducing or eliminating the need for subsequent re-encoding. The padding also may be used to track dead space in the file, with adjacent regions of dead space coalesced into a single region of dead space.
