A computing device, during sampling or playback of a work, receives a command to associate data with the work at a particular point in the work. The computing device generates a digital fingerprint of a segment of the work, wherein the segment corresponds to the particular point in the work. The computing device then associates the data with the digital fingerprint.

Using digital fingerprints to associate data with a work

A modular sandal. The modular sandal includes a sole having an upper side and a lower side. Slots disposed on the lower side include an interior wall and a width. Channels extending from the lower side of the sole through the upper side of the sole include a diameter. Each of the channels is positioned within one of the slots. A strap including locking tabs is pivotally affixed to the sole. Each locking tab is configured to pivot between a locked position and an unlocked position. Each locking tab is configured to pass through each channel when in an unlocked position. Each locking tab frictionally engages the interior wall of each slot when in a locked position, thereby anchoring the strap to the sole.

The invention relates to a network interface system for interfacing a host system with a network. The network interface system includes a bus interface system, a media access control system, and a security system. The network interface offloads IPsec processing from the host processor. According to the invention, the security system includes two processors for encrypting and authenticating the outgoing data. Outgoing data packets are sent alternately to one or the other processor, whereby transmission processing can be accelerated relative to receive processing.

A multiport switch distributes conversations over links in a trunk. The multiport switch includes receiver ports, transmitter ports, and a routing engine. The receiver ports receive data frames belonging to one or more of the conversations. The transmitter ports transmit the received data frames over the links in the trunk. The routing engine distributes the conversations over the links in the trunk by identifying at least one field in each of the received data frames, assigning each of the received data frames to a corresponding one of the one or more conversations based on the identified fields, and selecting the links in the trunk over which to transmit the received data frames based on the conversation assignments.

A method for providing control information between a host and a home phone line network via an Ethernet controller includes: determining if the control information is to be transmitted to the home phone line network or is received from the home phone line network; generating a first home phone line network data frame from a frame control frame (FCF) and a corresponding first Ethernet data frame received from the Ethernet controller, if the control information is to be transmitted to the home phone line network; and generating a second Ethernet data frame and a corresponding frame status frame (FSF) from a second home phone line network data frame received from the home phone line network, if the control information is received from the hoMe phone line network. Control information is thus provided between the host and the HPNA network via an Ethernet controller without requiring additional hardware or special interfaces.

The invention relates to a network interface system for interfacing a host system with a network. The security system is coupled to the memory system and is adapted to selectively perform security processing on incoming and outgoing data. For at least one of receive or transmit processing, the security system comprises one or more encryption pipelines and at least two sets of one or more authentication pipelines. The encryption pipelines are adapted to perform one or more encryption or decryption algorithms. The authentication pipelines are adapted to perform one or more authentication algorithms. The security system is configured to selectively process frames through the encryption pipelines and then through the two sets of authentication pipelines. The system toggles whereby successive frames alternate between the two sets of authentication pipelines.
