Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for collecting consumer information. A first message is received from a portable communication device having a device identifier. The first message includes an item code that identifies a promotional item. It is verified whether the device identifier is registered for a promotional service corresponding to the item code. If the device identifier is not registered for the promotional service, a second message is sent to the portable communication device, where the second message requests an address for delivering the promotional item.

In some embodiments, a server establishes communication with user devices; the server receives location data identifying a location of each user device; the server determines a geographical region based on the location of each user device, each geographical region being different for user devices not at the same location; the server receives an audio stream from the first of the user devices; the server determines which of the other user devices are within the geographical region of the first user device; and the server transmits the audio stream to the other user devices that are within the geographical region of the first user device. In some embodiments, the server creates altered audio streams based on the distances between user devices. A location sensitive display device, and method therefor utilized in an entertainment environment. The display device includes a receiver, control circuit, and indication units. Infrared (IR) transmitters are positioned within the entertainment environment and emit a code which is detected and decoded by the receiver or IR photodiode. The receiver generates a control signal in response to the transmitted IR signal, and a control circuit processes the control signal to generate output signals which illuminate Light Emitting Diode (LED) indication units in a sequence determined by the output signals to provide a predetermined visual display. The display can be used in an activity related to the entertainment environment and can be controlled by a user or a central control system. Further, the display device can include a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen to provide various types of games including games of skill and trivia games with questions and answers.
