Access is obtained to a plurality of intermediately transformed electronic documents (with a plurality of sections and subsections) which have been transformed, by topical analysis and text summarization techniques, from a plurality of original electronic documents comprising at least some unstructured electronic documents. Audit and retrieval agent code is appended to the sections and subsections to create a plurality of finally transformed electronic documents. Users are allowed to access the finally transformed electronic documents. The users are provided with accountability reminders contemporaneous with the access. The access of the users to the sections and subsections of the finally transformed electronic documents is logged. An audit report is provided based on the logging. Access is obtained to a hierarchically structured document having a plurality of hierarchical levels. For each of the hierarchical levels, a word list with a word count for each word included therein is obtained. A method and apparatus for managing authorizations to access personal data of a user is disclosed. A computer retrieves a set of authorizations for a plurality of web based applications, wherein an authorization enables an application of the plurality of web based applications to access at least a portion of the personal data of the user. The computer presents the set of authorizations on a graphical user interface. The computer receives a user input indicating a change to a particular authorization in the set of authorizations for a particular web based application in the plurality of web based applications. Responsive to receiving the user input indicating the change to the particular authorization in the set of authorizations, the computer then stores the change to the particular authorization in the set of authorizations for the plurality of web based applications to access the personal data.

A computer dispatcher connected to one or more respective network buffers has stored file lists that identify one or more of the files in the database that are to be transmitted over networks connected to the respective network buffer. A scheduler(s) schedule one or more portions of one or more of the files to be written to the respective network buffers by defining transmission criteria about each of the files in the file list. These transmission criteria include a quantity to transmit criteria, defining a quantity of one or more of the portions of the respective file to transmit, and one or more release times. The release times define the time at which the respective portion is to be written to the network buffer. The system includes a dispatching process that determines an available space on one or more of the network buffers and a current system time. The dispatching process determines if the system time is greater than or equal to one of the release times and further takes a minimum value of the available space and the quantity of the respective portion. The dispatching process then writes the minimum value of the respective portion to one or more of the network buffers. A feedback mechanism, e.g. a quantity completion measure, is used to estimate a completion time of the writing of the respective portion to the respective network buffer. The scheduler then reschedules one or more of the portions if one or more of the portions can not be scheduled to meet the respective transmission criteria.

The invention is a broadband network monitoring system and method. The system has one or more RF carrier generators that generate one or more generator signals, called a reference signal, each of the generator signals having a generator signal frequency. One or more RF transient detectors sense a line signal on one or more broadband lines in the broadband network. Each line signal has one or more test signals applied by a remote RF carrier generator. Each test signal has a frequency equal to one of the reference signals. Each RF transient detector senses and compares the test signal and the reference signal in various ways to produce a transient indicator when the test signal and reference/generator signal are not the same. The transient indicator indicates that there may be a perturbation or some other problem in the respective broadband line. A controller is connected to each of the RF transient detectors and controls an RF switch and an analyzer. The RF switch has two or more inputs connected to each respective RF detector and one output connected to the analyzer. When the controller receives a transient indicator, it controls the switch to connect the broadband line producing the transient indicator to the analyzer and, in a preferred embodiment, starts the analyzer. In this way, all of the broadband lines can be monitored and analyzed for perturbations using a single analyzer.
