A computer program that can be installed on a web server to assemble web pages that can be accessed over the Internet by password to prepare financial planning reports for a client. The program takes gross income, subtracts income taxes, subtracts all money put into savings programs, and whatever is left is what the client spends in a given year or month. It further itemizes and subtracts the monthly payments for debt service since these items will be fully amortized or paid off at some point in the future and should not be included in baseline living expenses that will continue through a person's lifetime. The balance left after these calculations are completed represents the individual's current annual living expenses or standard of living that needs to be sustained throughout their lifetime with adjustments for inflation. The program can produce three major reports: (1) an income and expense report; (2) an asset and liability report or balance sheet; and (3) a cash flow report that shows all of items that impact cash flow on a year by year basis throughout the rest of the individual or client's lifetime. If there are cash flow shortfalls in any year, the program uses a two step present value calculation to determine how much the individual would need in a lump sum today or contribute monthly or annually to provide sufficient funds in the year needed to fill the shortfall.

Financial planning document and process therefor

A hollow working pole such as a luminaire pole is repaired by cutting the pole above ground level and inserting a sleeve. The sleeve is maintained in position while grout is poured to fill the space between the sleeve and the inner surfaces of the pole base. The top portion of the pole, previously removed, are replaced and grout is poured into the circumferential space between the insert and the inner surfaces of the upper portion of the pole.

An effective carpet spot cleaner is provided which is comprised of sodium polyphosphate and/or sodium tripolyphosphate; sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate and Butyl Cellosolve.

Spot cleaner for carpets

A carpeting shampoo is provided wherein several sodium salts, namely, sodium pyrophosphate, sodium silicate and sodium sulfate are added to a sodium lauryl sulfate detergent to form an aqueous solution. Also added is a alcohol, an amine and a glycol ether. The addition of such alkali metal salts enhances the cleaning effectiveness of such detergent.

Liquid shampoo for carpets

An ionization source is disclosed for use with mass spectrometers and electron capture species detectors having an ionization light source excited so as to illuminate a fluid sample which flows past the light source whereby electrons are photoelectrically generated by a light source. Means are also provided to accelerate the photoelectrons and to extract heavy ions generated by the accelerated photoelectrons from the fluid sample. Further means are provided to focus the extracted heavy ions so that they may be detected. Also included is a means to maintain a vacuum between the light source and the sample and the detector.

Photoelectron source for use in a gas chromatograph detector and mass

There is provided a photoionizer which includes a light source comprising a hollow torus, an ultraviolet transmitting window substantially surrounding a passage through the torus, a gas filling within the torus, and means for creating an electrical discharge within said torus. The photoionizer further includes an electrode means within said passage through said torus for collecting, or extracting, the ions produced by the said light source striking a gas within said passage, means for passing a preselected gas sample through said passage containing said electrode means, and means connected to said electrode means for measuring the ions collected by said electrode means resulting from the interaction between said light source and said gas sample or extracting means able to project a beam of ions from the ionization region or from an ion image outside the ionization region. Means are also provided for either intercepting or measuring surface currents.

Photoionizer

There is provided a photoionizer which includes a light source comprising a hollow torus, an ultraviolet transmitting window substantially surrounding a passage through the torus, a gas filling within the torus, and means for creating an electrical discharge within said torus. The photoionizer further includes an electrode means within said passage through said torus for collecting, or extracting, the ions produced by the said light source striking a gas within said passage, means for passing a preselected gas sample through said passage containing said electrode means, and means connected to said electrode means for measuring the ions collected by said electrode means resulting from the interaction between said light source and said gas sample or extracting means able to project a beam of ions from the ionization region or from an ion image outside the ionization region.

Apparatus for the measurement of hair-like particles, such as measurement of the amount of asbestos fiber in air. Apparatus including a source of a polarized beam of radiation directed to a scattering zone and a detector for detecting radiation of the beam scattered from the zone. A device at the zone, typically a pair of spaced parallel plates with an electric field therebetween, for orienting the hair-like particles parallel with each other and substantially perpendicular to the incoming beam of radiation, and a drive mechanism for rotating the polarized beam relative to the oriented particles to a first position with the polarization of the beam parallel to the particles and to a second position with the polarization of the beam perpendicular to the particles. A modulation reference signal and the signal from the radiation detector may be provided to a synchronous detector which produces an output varying as a function of the scattering produced by the hair-like particles and hence a function of the quantity of the particles in the zone. The scattering is much larger when the direction of the electric vector in the polarized beam is parallel to the long axis of the aligned hair-like particles.

Device for measurement of hair-like particulate material

A spectrometer generally of the electro-opto-acoustic type, using a capacitor type detection instead of acoustic detection. A holder with a sample carrier having a dielectric and with a conducting backing plate on one surface of the sample carrier and a transparent conducting coating and an electrical potential on the opposite surface, with the potential applied after sample accumulation. A source for directing a beam of radiation onto the sample for cyclically heating the sample and varying the spacing between the metal backing plate and conducting coating, and an ac detector circuit connected to the backing plate providing an ac signal varying with the spacing and hence with the composition of the sample.

Spectrometer of the electro-opto-acoustic type with capacitor-type

A thin film laser typcially operating in the region of 1,000 to 10,000 A. First and second electrodes are mounted in a fluid container in spaced relation with a dielectric block in the gap between the electrodes and fixed to the first electrode. A voltage pulse applied to the electrodes produces an electric field between the electrodes with a discharge occurring in the thin film of fluid between the dielectric and second electrode. The current discharge excites the fluid, forming simple excited molecules which may have a bound upper state and a dissociative lower state connected by an optical transition. The surfaces of the block and second electrode may form an active optical wave guide for the excited molecules, in which lasing occurs. The laser may be tuned by an acoustic wave produced at the surface of the dielectric block which causes distributed feedback in the active region recycling potential laser emission through the active medium and turning the laser to a wavelength that matches the wavelength of the acoustic surface wave.

Gaseous thin film acoustically tuned laser

A method and apparatus for producing molecular radiation of a single selected gas by generating resonance photons characteristic of the single gas and at a first frequency, and directing the resonance photons into a container of the single gas producing excited molecules of the gas which molecules emit radiation at frequencies lower than the first frequency.

Apparatus and method for improving contrast in the visual image formed by toner deposited on an electrostatic image such as is formed in xerography and ionography. Hard copy and real time electrostatic imaging systems utilizing a fluorescent toner in the form of particles having a fluorescent core and an electrophoretic coating. A viewing system with a radiation source of a wavelength for exciting the fluorescent toner particles and preferably a filter for suppressing the excitation radiation in the fluorescent image.
