A video conference system includes two cameras placed on opposite sides of a touch screen display. Multimedia processing is performed in order to automatically switch between the cameras and to display items on the touch screen display based on user position or user interactions with the system.

Input signals, received by a primary computer, are emulated to a guest computer. For example, an input redirection component is connected between the primary computer and the guest computer. The primary computer may be communicatively connected to an input device (e.g., a touch display, a keyboard, etc.). The guest computer may not, however, be communicatively connected to the input device, and thus may be unaware of input signals from the input device. Accordingly, the input redirection component may receive, from the primary computer, a message regarding an input signal from the input device. The input redirection component may emulate the input device (e.g., connect to the guest computer as though the input redirection component is the input device), and may provide an emulated input signal, emulating the input signal, to the guest computer (e.g., the input signal, received by the primary computer, may be used to control the guest computer).

A communication system includes a touch screen display device with first and second cameras mounted on opposite sides of the touch screen display device so a field of view for each camera is pointed inward relative to the touch screen display device. The present invention is directed to presenting a suggested search query. Responsive to receiving a user-devised search parameter, a suggested search query is identified. The user-devised search parameter might have been previously received by a search system, or alternatively, might be a unique query that has not been previously received. A suggested search query might be generated using various techniques, such as by applying an n-gram language model. A classification of the suggested search query is determined, and the suggested search query is presented together with a visual indicator, which signifies the classification.

A method for identifying singleton outlier pixels in a selected color space in a digital image including a plurality of pixels, includes for each 3&#xd7;3 patch of pixels in the image, calculating the diameter of the 3&#xd7;3 patch of pixels. For each pixel in the patch, the distance to its nearest neighbor pixel within the patch is computed, as measured in the selected color space. The computed distance from each pixel in the patch is compared to its nearest neighbor with a threshold that is a preselected fraction of the diameter. A center pixel in the patch is identified as an outlier pixel if its calculated distance to its nearest neighbor is the largest distance to a nearest neighbor and exceeds the threshold.

An audio application programming interface (API) enables an audio processing graph to be modified during processing. If they are received while the audio graph is playing or paused, graph modifying commands may be inserted into either an asynchronous command queue or a deferred command queue. The audio API may also include a clock manager for synchronizing clocks from a number of different connected audio rendering devices, applications, processors, functions, operations, modules, or other resources. The clock manager may provide an interface that enables a number of control groups to be defined. Each such control group may include a master clock, a slave clock, and a control.

A method for communicating video data is provided that includes generating a plurality of error correction code bits and positioning the error correction code bits in a stream of image data such that the stream of image data is encoded. The stream of image data may then be received and encoded in order to convert the stream of image data into a digital visual interface (DVI) format. The stream of image data may then be received and checked for one or more errors using the error correction code bits.

An audio generation system includes MIDI track components that generate event instructions for MIDI audio data received from a MIDI audio data source, and includes audio wave track components that generate playback instructions for audio wave data maintained in an audio wave data source. A segment component plays one or more of the MIDI track components to generate the event instructions, and plays one or more of the audio wave track components to generate the playback instructions. An audio processing component, such as a synthesizer component, receives the event instructions and the playback instructions, and generates an audio rendition corresponding to the MIDI audio data and/or the audio wave data.

A method provides for an improved chroma-key suppression technique. The improved method reduces a halo-like effect which might otherwise appear in a composite image containing a foreground object selected from a first image and a background image selected from a second image. In accordance with the present invention, a chroma-key patch is translated into x, y axis coordinates and one or more pixels of the image in question can be compared to a chroma-key patch and a transition region at least partially surrounding the chroma-key patch to better select suppression signals to be applied in an image processing operation.

A system and method for converting a color represented in a first color space to the color represented in a second color space uses a constant hue algorithm. The constant hue algorithm is used to compensate invalid colors in the second color space obtained as a result of the conversion. The constant hue algorithm determines a compensation factor that, in effect, blends the invalid color with pure grey until the invalid color becomes a valid color in the second color space. The compensation factor is optionally stored with the valid color in the second color space so that the original color in the first color space can be subsequently recovered.

A synchronization backbone for use in a computer system having a system board containing at least one central processing unit for processing digital data, a memory coupled to the system board for storing the digital data, a plurality of subsystems, and a bus structure for transmitting electrical signals between the system board, the memory, and the plurality of subsystems. The synchronization backbone provides the infrastructure that enables professional quality synchronization between the various subsystems. A clock generator is used to generate a system clock that is transmitted to each of the subsystems. The sample rate of a designated subsystem is used as a digital synchronization signal. The selected digital synchronization signal is then transmitted to each of the other subsystems. A synchronization circuit adjusts the sample rates associated with the other subsystems according to the digital synchronization signal and the system clock. Synchronization may be achieve via the unadjusted system time, a media stream count, or a combination of the two.

Error concealment of an erroneous pixel in a line of pixels is provided by adaptively using a large number of adjacent correct pixels along the same horizontal line. The invention discards any corrupted adjacent pixel which would be used in the calculation for a replacement pixel value, while modifying the weighting of the remaining adjacent correct pixels in accordance with the error pattern generated by the corrupted pixel or pixels. An overflow detection circuit also is included, which provides an acceptable replacement pixel value rather than using the unacceptable overflow value.
