A collapsible exercise device having three U-shaped frame members pivotally connected at one pivot point, and each frame member being connected between free swingable portions by straps. A foot shaft is pivotally connected to a base frame member, and is also connected by a strap to the swingable portion of a middle frame member. A user positions himself on a floor or level surface within the apparatus, using his legs to depress the foot shaft, and creating tension on the straps, which pivots the frame members at the pivot point, thus lifting the head and torso therewith. The user exercises by alternatively depressing the foot shaft to lift up the head and torso into an engaged position, and then releasing pressure on the foot shaft to return the head and torso to a rest position.

Collapsible exercise device and method

The combination apparatus, preseparator, vacuum regulator and check valve silences and filters air flow and separates air-contaminant mixtures. The combination apparatus comprises an annular housing having an outer wall and a channel defining a central axis. The channel has a primary gas inlet coupled to an air filter, a primary gas outlet coupled to an engine induction system, and a channel wall therebetween. A secondary inlet port passes through the outer wall and a secondary inlet port defines an opening in the channel. A baffle is axially disposed within the housing defining a first and second flow passageway. Second baffles are disposed within the first and second passageways to effect serpentine flow through each flow passageway and filter material is disposed within each flow passageway. A preseparator is coupled between the secondary inlet and an engine breather and has an annular housing with preseperator baffles disposed therein for effecting serpentine flow therethrough. Filter material is disposed within the preseparator. A vacuum regulator is coupled between the preseparator and engine breather and a check valve is coupled between a drain coupling in the combination apparatus and an engine block, to prevent oil carry over into the combination apparatus.

Combination in-line air-filter/air-oil separator/air-silencer with

A vacuum relief valve for use with internal combustion engines is provided. The valve is connected to the breathing tubes of an engine on one side and to the air induction system of the engine on the opposite side. Under certain conditions during engine operation, the induction system has a tendency to reduce the pressure within the crankcase creating a partial vacuum. The vacuum relief valve is interposed between the induction system and the crankcase and control or limits the amount of partial vacuum thus created to a maximum of seven inches of vacuum or less. This is accomplished by providing means for limiting the size of a passageway through the valve and thereby limit the amount of suction that can be communicated by the induction system to the crankcase. In one embodiment, a spring biased piston is used to control the size of the passageway. Other valving mechanisms are also contemplated. An auxiliary pathway to atmosphere is also incorporated into the valve so that the breather tubes can be vented when the passageway through the valve is partially or fully closed.

Vacuum relief valve

A bed has a foundation for supporting an air mattress. The foundation has a plurality of pivotally connected transverse plates that are moved to bend the mattress to a desired contour and shape. Open top recesses in the foundation located below the plates accommodate bags have flexible walls. The bags are separately expandable and contractible to move the plates to selected elevated positions. The recesses hold the bags in lifting positions relative to the plates when the bags are inflated. The bags fit into the recesses when deflated to allow the plates to move to a horizontal position. The bed is equipped with a vibrator that is operable to vibrate the air mattress.

Air adjustable bed

A plurality of foundation sections are interlocked with releasable latch devices to form a mattress support. The foundation sections include two center sections that are shorter than end sections to enable the center sections to be packed within the end sections. Side members can be releasably connected to the center sections to complete the foundation. The foundation sections can be stacked and placed within a container having a size within the shipping limits of the United Parcel Service.

Bed foundation

The combination apparatus silences and filters air flow and separates air-contaminant mixtures. An air filter joins an annular housing which has an outer wall and a channel defining a central axis, the channel having a primary gas inlet coupled to the air filter and a primary gas outlet and a channel wall. The apparatus has a secondary inlet port passing through the outer wall. A secondary outlet port defines an opening in the channel wall such that there is no straight line flow path between the secondary inlet and the secondary outlet. An air silencer is contained within the channel. A passageway between the secondary inlet and the secondary outlet is defined exteriorly by the outer wall and interiorly by the channel wall.

Combination in line air-filter/air-oil separator/air-silencer

An air bed has side-by-side air mattresses confined within the perimeter of a rectangular border. The border has a plurality of border walls each located within a fabric case. The case accommodates upper and lower foam members of different density. The upper foam member has a density so as to be sufficiently resilient reducing discomfort to a resting person. The lower foam member has a density so as to be sufficiently rigid to retain the air mattresses within the perimeter of the border. Velcro fasteners are used to normally join the border walls. The bed is equipped with a cover having a releasable fastener so that the cover may be readily removed from the air mattresses and border.

Border for air bed

An air mattress has top and bottom walls joined to side and end walls with edge seams. A longitudinal web located within the chamber of the air mattress extends between the end walls adjacent to each side wall to form a pair of longitudinal air passages. A plurality of transverse webs located within the chamber extends between the longitudinal webs to form transverse air accommodating passages. The bi-directional air passages and webs reduce uneven areas of the top wall and prevent seal failure and mattress collapse. The mattress is equipped with a one-way air pressure relief valve operable to limit the air pressure in the air mattress to about 1 psi to prevent seam separation and blowout.

Air mattress

An air pump having a diaphragm moved with a solenoid operates to supply air under pressure to air mattresses of an air bed. A hand control having a pair of valves functions to control the operation of the air pump to supply air to the air mattresses and vent air from the air mattresses.

Air control system for air bed

An air supply and control apparatus has an air pump to supply air under pressure to air mattresses of an air bed. A hand control having a pair of valves functions to control the operation of the air pump to supply air to the air mattresses and vent air from the air mattresses. A second embodiment of the air supply and control apparatus has a motor driven impeller for supplying air under pressure to air mattresses. Solenoids having two coils operate valves to allow air to flow to the air mattress or vent air from the air mattress to adjust the firmness of the mattress. A normally closed switch is opened when the solenoid opens the valve. The switch turns off one coil of the solenoid. The other coil remains energized to hold the valve open. Hand controls having switches are electrically coupled to the motor and solenoids to control the operation thereof. A third embodiment of the air control apparatus has air pump and valve assembly operable with a hand control to selectively direct air under pressure to an air mattress and vent air from the air mattress. The air mattress and air control apparatus is incorporated into a sofa bed.

An air supply and control apparatus has an air pump to supply air under pressure to air mattresses of an air bed. A hand control having a pair of valves functions to control the operation of the air pump to supply air to the air mattresses and vent air from the air mattresses. An air mattress is equipped with a combined one-way air pressure relief valve and audio device operable to limit the air pressure in the air mattress to about 1 psi to prevent seam separation and blow-out. Air flowing out of the mattress through the combined air pressure relief valve and audio device produces an audible sound. The mattress has top and bottom walls joined to side and end walls with edge seams. The combined air pressure relief valve and audio device is located within the chamber of the air mattress so that external structures do not interfere with the functioning of the valve and audio device. In one arrangement, a boot secures the combined air pressure relief valve and audio device to the inside of an end wall. In a second arrangement, the combined air pressure relief valve and audio device is located within a seam.

Air mattress with audible pressure relief valve

An air mattress has a filler check valve connected to an air blower to supply air to the mattress chamber. A holder secured to the air mattress locates the filler check valve in a recessed position relative to an outer wall of the mattress. The filler check valve has a sleeve mounted on the holder and a rod attached to a valve head carrying an annular sealing member. A spring biases the valve head to a closed position wherein annular sealing member engages a beveled face on the inner end of the sleeve. The outer end of the sleeve has a cylindrical collar with internal and external threads. The internal threads of the collar engage external threads of the holder to secure the sleeve on the holder. A cap has an annular flange with internal threads of the collar to close an air passage in the sleeve. Seals located between the collar and sleeve and between the cap and the sleeve inhibit leakage of air from the chamber of the air mattress.

Air mattress with filler check valve and cap therefor

The filtering apparatus filters air-contaminant mixtures. An annular housing has an outer wall and a channel defining a central axis, the channel having a primary gas inlet and a primary gas outlet and a channel wall. The apparatus has a secondary inlet port passing through the outer wall. A secondary outlet port defines an opening in the channel wall such that there is no straight line flow path between the secondary inlet and the secondary outlet. A passageway between the secondary inlet and the secondary outlet is defined exteriorly by the outer wall and interiorly by the channel wall.

In-line air-oil separator

An air mattress is equipped with a one-way air pressure relief valve operable to limit the air pressure in the air mattress to about 1 psi to prevent seam separation and blowout. The mattress has top and bottom walls joined to side and end walls with edge seams. The air pressure relief valve is located within the chamber of the air mattress so that external structures do not interfere with the functioning of the valve. In one arrangement, a boot secures the air pressure relief valve to the inside of an end wall. In a second arrangement, the air pressure relief valve is located within the seam.
