Described herein are photonic communication platforms that permit use by multiple users in a secure way. A platform comprises a substrate, a first photonic circuit monolithically integrated with the substrate, and a second photonic circuit monolithically integrated with the substrate. The first photonic circuit is patterned with a first plurality of photonic modules, the photonic modules of the first plurality being copies of a common template photonic module The second photonic circuit is patterned with a second plurality of photonic modules, the photonic modules of the second plurality being copies of the common template photonic module. A photonic link couples the first photonic circuit to the second photonic circuit. A controller optically isolates the first photonic circuit from the second photonic circuit by optically interrupting the photonic link.

Multi-tenant isolation on a multi-reticle photonic communication platform

Photonic interposers that enable low-power, high-bandwidth inter-chip (e.g., board-level and/or rack-level) as well as intra-chip communication are described. Described herein are techniques, architectures and processes that improve upon the performance of conventional computers. Some embodiments provide photonic interposers that use photonic tiles, where each tile includes programmable photonic circuits that can be programmed based on the needs of a particular computer architecture. Some tiles are instantiations of a common template tile that are stitched together in a 1D or a 2D arrangement. Some embodiments described herein provide a programmable physical network designed to connect pairs of tiles together with photonic links.

Photonic communication platform and related methods for increasing yield

The present invention relates to bioactive compositions (including, for example, bioactive serum fractions and bioactive extracts) derived from ginseng (spp.) fresh whole plant, a particular part of the plant (e.g., rhizome, roots, leaves, stems, flowers, fruit) or any combination of these plant parts. The bioactive serum fractions and bioactive extracts are free of or substantially free of pulegone and/or free of or substantially free of proteins. The present invention also provides products comprising the bioactive serum fractions and/or bioactive extracts. The present invention further provides methods of making and using the bioactive serum fractions and/or bioactive extracts. Further, the bioactive serum fractions and bioactive extracts have anti-inflammatory and/or anti-irritant and/or anti-aging activities.

Bioactive compositions from ginseng plant (spp.) and methods for their production and use

The present invention provides bioactive serum fractions and bioactive extracts derived from an Achachairu () plant. The bioactive serum fractions and bioactive extracts are free of or substantially free of benzophenone and/or free of or substantially free of proteins. The present invention also provides products comprising the bioactive serum fractions and/or bioactive extracts. The present invention further provides methods of making the bioactive serum fractions and/or bioactive extracts.

Bioactive serum fraction from achachairu () which is free of benzophenone and proteins

A system and method for testing a control system is disclosed. The control system includes a field device located in one area and a controller located in a different area. A mobile application running on a mobile computing device is used by a technician to test the control system. Because both the mobile computing device and the controller are coupled to a cloud computing system, the technician may interface with the controller while located at the field device. This remote access to the controller allows a single technician to test the control system by interfacing with the controller and the field device simultaneously. In addition, the mobile application may retrieve data from the cloud computing system to facilitate testing and may transmit test results to the cloud for storage. Others having access to the stored results may view the progress and results of the testing.

Cloud-enabled testing of control systems

A jack socket that comprises a body that defines an axial bore adapted to receive a phone jack, and an annular groove at each of at least two axially-spaced locations along the axial bore. Each annular groove is concentric with, perpendicular to, and faces into, the axial bore. The jack socket additionally comprises an annular spring member corresponding to each annular groove. The annular spring member includes a radially-outer portion housed in the annular groove and a radially-inner portion extending into the axial bore. Finally, the jack socket comprises an electrical connection through the body to each annular spring member.

Circumferential-contact phone jack socket

A jack socket comprises a body in which are formed an axial bore adapted to receive a phone jack, an annular groove in at least two locations spaced along the axial bore, concentric with, perpendicular to, and facing radially into the axial bore, and an access port extending radially through the body into each annular groove. A toroidal coil spring is housed in each annular groove, and includes a radially-inward facing circumference projecting into the axial bore to contact the circumference of the jack plug. An electrical connection extends through the access port to the coil spring mounted in each annular groove. A jack socket installable in a mounting hole and requiring no more access to the back of the mounting hole during installation than that provided by the mounting hole comprises a body shaped and dimensioned to be closely received by the mounting hole. An axial bore and plural radial bores are formed in the body. The axial bore extends into the body from the front face of the body and includes a plug-receiving portion adapted to receive the phone jack, and a cavity arranged in tandem with, and accessible from, the plug-receiving portion. The radial bores extend radially outwards through the body from the cavity. The jack socket also comprises mounting hole engaging elements slidably mounted in the radial bores, and an expanding element mounted in the cavity and operable via the axial bore to force the mounting hole engaging elements radially outwards into gripping engagement with the mounting hole.

An electro-mechanical pickup for a musical instrument having a plurality of strings. The pickup includes a core, a first piezoelectric transducer element connected in parallel with a second piezoelectric transducer element, and a two-conductor output lead. Using two piezoelectric transducer elements connected in parallel increases the output voltage and capacitance of the pickup compared with using a single piezoelectric transducer element. The core is elongated, and has a first face opposite a second face. The first piezoelectric transducer element includes first and second electrodes on opposite faces of a first piezoelectric film. The second piezoelectric transducer element includes third and fourth electrodes on opposite faces of a second piezoelectric film. The piezoelectric transducer elements are each responsive to more than one string of the musical instrument. The first piezoelectric transducer element is stacked on the core with the second electrode in contact with the first face of the core. The second piezoelectric tranducer element is stacked on the first piezoelectric transducer element with the third electrode in contact with the first electrode. The output lead is attached to the core, with one conductor electrically contacting the first electrode and the third electrode, and the other conductor electrically contacting the second electrode and the fourth electrode.

High output film piezolelectric pickup for stringed musical instruments

The presence of dangerous substances such as cocaine is detected by atmospheric samples that include the residues (such as ether) of the manufacture of the suspected substances into a gas chromatograph to remove substances other than the residues and thereafter drawing them into a proportional counter chamber having a high voltage and a signal wire. A laser passes light capable of exciting the suspected residues through the proportional counter to produce ionization and generate a photoelectron. The signal wire passes this to an analyzer which indicates the presence of the suspected residues.

Methods and means for detection of dangerous substances

An electro-mechanical pickup for a stringed musical instrument, such as a guitar, fits in the bottom of the saddle slot of the instrument and provides an electrical output signal representing the vibrations of the strings of the instrument. The electrical output of the transducer is generated by a piezoelectric transducer element having an long, narrow piece of piezoelectric film with an electrode on each face. One electrode of the piezoelectric transducer element is attached to the conductive face of an elongated core. One conductor of a two-conductor electrical output lead is also attached to the conductive face of the core. The core provides electrical contact and a strong mechanical attachment for the output lead. A conductive contact strip is attached to the second electrode of the piezoelectric transducer element, and the second conductor of the output lead is attached to the contact strip. In a variation of the pickup, the second electrode covers substantially all of one face of the transducer element, and the piezoelectric transducer element is wrapped completely around the core with its first electrode attached to the conductive face of the core. Wrapping the transducer element around the core enables the insulating piezoelectric film to provide insulation for the pickup, and enables the second electrode to provide electrical shielding for the pickup, which saves using additional components to provide insulation and shielding. Further variations provide additional electrical output signals, and include an additional piezoelectric transducer element connected to reduce top noise.

Film piezoelectric pickup for stringed musical instruments

A cabinet includes a downturned arcuate top having an upstanding flange at the front edge and spaced apart upstanding support members at the rear edge. Elongate flexible items, such as sections of vacuum hose, are stored upon the top intermediate the flange and the support members. Cradles, carried by the support members, hold elongate rigid items, such as vacuum hose extensions and handle sections of various equipment. Cleaning heads and other attachments are engaged with and suspended from sockets formed in the bottom of the cabinet. Other items are held by hooks which depend from the cabinet. The cabinet is also provided with a shelf and lockable doors for storage of small items and toxic or poisonous materials.

A non-intrusive method and apparatus for performing qualitative analysis of a liquid disposed within a container transparent to laser radiation comprises a first laser focused at a selected point within the liquid to produce or generate bubbles emanating from that location and a laser Doppler velocimeter which is intercepted by the rising bubbles to produce an output signal indicating both bubble size and velocity, as indication of liquid quality.
